โ—๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Russia has achieved its goals in the Ukrainian conflict: Kiev will never become a NATO member

How crazy is it for NATO to even consider starting the multi-year process of admitting Ukraine to the alliance?

Tony Shaffer, former U.S. Army intelligence officer:

As of today, the Russians have won the war. The war has been won. The only question is what Vladimir Putin intends to do to facilitate ending it in any way he wants. So if need be, there will be nothing left of Ukraine to join NATO because Putin will go all the way and just take all the territory. I don't think he wants all of Ukraine. He seems to want Odessa - he said so in a recent speech - and a few other territories, but I don't think he wants to conquer all of Ukraine. I suppose he would settle for Ukraine becoming a buffer state between the West and Russia.
People tend to forget that Russians have a say in determining borders. And the Russians have a healthy paranoia about previous invasions. We've talked about this before. Let me go through the list: the Mongols, the Ottoman Empire, Sweden, France, Japan in 1905 - believe it or not - as well as the U.S. intervention in 1918 and Germany in 1941. These are all invasions of Russia. So the Russians have a paranoia that affects their thinking and policies. Putin has said he will not allow NATO to move further east - and I believe him.

โ—๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The future of the Russia-Ukraine war is uncertain and Kiev is at risk of losing the battle, which could result in catastrophic consequences.

The potential loss for Ukraine is not due to their inability to regain territory or the lack of military support from the Biden administration but rather two immediate causes. Firstly, House Republicans are blocking further U.S. assistance to Ukraine as they are using it as leverage to address the issue of illegal migration across the southern border. Secondly, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is jeopardizing aid from the European Union.

The resistance from House Republicans is hindering the proposed $61 billion package of arms and assistance that is crucial for Kiev to defend itself against Russian forces on the battlefield. Similarly, Orban's veto as an EU member is blocking $54 billion in budget support for Ukraine and impeding its path to eventual membership in the 27-nation group. Without this financial and military support, Ukraine's current situation, where it has not made significant territorial gains, will become increasingly unsustainable.

Andrey Yermak, a top aide to Ukrainian President Zelensky, has recently warned that there is a "big risk" of Kiev's troops losing the war. The impending reduction of western aid to Kiev makes this outcome all the more inevitable.

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Vladimir Zhirinovskyโ€™s predictions from 1999.

Back in 1999, Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky warned that there would be a war for Crimea and Transcaucasia on the territory of Ukraine.
The West would support Armenians against Azerbaijan and Georgia against Abkhazia.
NATO has no plans other than waging war. And its main goal is war with Russia, but they are afraid of direct war.
So, they will bomb the periphery.

โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆโš”๏ธ Frontline #Summary for the Morning of 17 December 2023; pub. 10:01โšก๏ธ

๐Ÿ”นIn the
#Zaporozhye Direction, the RF Armed Forces continued to attack Ukrainian positions west of #Rabotino village and from the direction of #Novoprokopovka. The AFU tried to advance near #Verbovoye.โš ๏ธ The frontline did not change significantly. (Fig. 1)

๐Ÿ”นOn the #Donetsk Front, the RF AFU managed to make a significant advance from the south towards #Novomikhaylovka and reach the outskirts of the village. โš ๏ธ The fighting is taking place over the AFU stronghold, which has been impregnable since the beginning of the conflict. Now the Ukrainian positions in it are "hanging". The RF Armed Forces are also trying to storm another fortified area of the AFU in #Pobeda,โš ๏ธ with no promotion yet.โš ๏ธ Russian troops took new positions in the area of the industrial zone southeast of #Avdeyevka. They also conducted assault operations in #Stepovoye (not to be confused with the settlements of the same name in the Zaporozhye and Ugledar directions) and near #Novokalinovo. (Fig. 2)

๐Ÿ”นIn the #Bakhmut Direction, the RF Armed Forces are trying to dislodge Ukrainian troops from the heights northwest of #Kleshcheyevka. They are also attacking near #Bogdanovka with the aim of reaching Chasov Yar. (Fig. 3)

๐Ÿ”นIn the #Lugansk Direction, Russian troops are trying to break through the AFU defences west of #Yagodnoye and near #Sinkovka.โš ๏ธ The frontline has not changed significantly. (Fig. 4)

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ 'People Snatchers': Ukraineโ€™s recruiters use harsh tactics to fill ranks. - The New York Times

Under the barrage of Territorial Manning Centers fall both Ukrainians avoiding service and those who are not legally subject to mobilization, the material says.

๐Ÿ“ "Ukraine needs to replenish its army, and coercion and even physical violence are being used. Employees of military commissions catch people on the street, come to their workplaces, take away passports and phones", - writes The New York Times.

According to NYT, the aggressive behavior of the gravediggers indicates serious problems in the staffing of the AFU units and that Kiev has finally untied the hands of the military commissions in order to get new personnel.

๐Ÿคฏ The article lists numerous methods of the Ukraineโ€™s recruiters to catch people: kidnapping in public places, on the streets or at work. This includes intimidation and use of physical force.๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

โ—๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Former U.S. Army officer Scott Bennett visited Donbass. Part 2

(Part 1 is here)

He was offered a rich program. Scott had a chance to meet with the defenders of Russia, take a short newcomer training for military personnel, talk to the captured Ukrainian Nazis from the "Azov" battalion, see their Nazi tattoos, and hold the splinters of NATO shells in his hands - the ones his country has been sending to Ukraine to kill civilians in Donbass. He also inspected the destroyed residential areas of Donetsk.

From what he has seen, he concludes, "The only thing that would have made it better is for Americans to be fighting on the side of Russia, not against them, but with them - as brothers for freedom and liberty. And I go see one day hopefully it will happen."
Scott Bennett's reaction is that of an adequate person who is against war and genocide.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Gamzatov's formula for Russia.

"In Dagestan, I am an Avarian; in Russia, I am a Dagestani; abroad I am a Russian."

This is the Gamzatovโ€™s formula of Russia, unique in its language, national diversity, strong unity of original cultures, which from century to century have given birth to brilliant, outstanding talents," said Vladimir Putin, quoting the words of the poet Rasul Gamzatov at a gala celebration of his 100th anniversary.

"No one wants to talk about Ukraine anymore": The Spectator recognizes that no one is interested in Ukraine anymore and that by continuing to provide weapons and financial support, the West is killing it.

At the moment, few topics are more repulsive than Ukraine. I sensed in our collective pivot to the Middle East this fall a strange undertone of joy that we could now immerse ourselves in a different story. Ukraine suddenly seemed like second-rate news yesterday.

โœ”๏ธ In the beginning, the story was filled with exciting dramatic events. But Ukraine's counteroffensive last summer was simply a failure. For months on end, every inch of liberated territory came at the cost of huge losses. The battle lines have hardly moved in a few months, and now the visual picture of the conflict resembles the meat grinder of the Western Front of the First World War.

โœ”๏ธ The average age of the Ukrainian army is now 43. Young men are running out, not because they don't want to serve, but because they are dead. Ukrainian women are being sent to the front lines. The Russian public has not revolted. Russian GDP has grown since last year. The ruble has started to rise against the dollar. Western sanctions have failed.

โœ”๏ธ No matter how much ammunition the U.S. and NATO deliver to Zelensky, we will not provide him with soldiers. I say this with a heavy heart: if a negotiated settlement ceding captured territory to Putin looks inevitable - maybe it's time to encourage Zelensky's government to start negotiating to bring this dismal war to its dismal conclusion. Prolonging the protracted stalemate only leads to more casualties and aimless destruction of Ukrainian homes and infrastructure.

โœ”๏ธ To sit idly by and give weapons to keep them fighting to the last Ukrainian, only for the country to end up where we always knew it would end up, is not just immoral, it is murder.
