IDF: IDF Troops in the Central Command are Strengthening Defensive Operations and Continuing Counterterrorism Activities in Judea and Samaria as Part of Preparations for the Release of Palestinian Prisoners
In accordance with the political directive, as part of the ceasefire agreement and in preparation for the release of Palestinian prisoners, the IDF Central Command has been reinforced with additional combat soldiers for defensive and offensive operations across Judea and Samaria.
The troops will be stationed on key routes where additional checkpoints will be established and will operate to thwart terrorist activity and violent riots.
The IDF, together with other security forces, will continue to operate defensively and offensively to ensure the security of Israel's citizens.

Alongside the immense excitement, our hearts are with all the hostages still being held in Gaza under inhumane conditions, and we eagerly await their return.
The first stage of the agreement is expected to last approximately 42 days. Today, the first three hostages returned. From now on, three to four additional hostages will be released each week.
This morning, Hamas failed to uphold its commitment and did not submit the list as agreed upon in the deal. Following the delay, we struck Hamas military infrastructure and armed terrorists in vehicles, and the ceasefire implementation was delayed. When the ceasefire came into effect at 11:15, our troops took up the defensive positions outlined in the agreement as part of a broader security deployment along the Gaza border. The troops of the Nahal Brigade, under the command of the 162nd Division, are preparing for their next missions after weeks of operations in the Beit Hanoun area in the northern Gaza Strip.
Over the past year and three months, the brigade has operated in dozens of areas in the Gaza Strip, eliminating hundreds of terrorists, dismantling terrorist infrastructure, and locating and confiscating thousands of weapons.
67 soldiers and commanders of the Nahal Brigade fell in the defense of the communities near the Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, and in combat in the Gaza Strip. The IDF extends its condolences to the bereaved families and will continue to support them. This morning (Monday), a ceremony was held to mark the conclusion of the brigade's operations and to honor the memory of the brigade's fallen soldiers since the beginning of the war.
