The send-off ceremony for Israel’s sixth submarine, INS Drakon, was held this week at the TKMS shipyard in Kiel, Germany. The ceremony was attended by VADM Eyal Harel, Commander in Chief of the Israeli Navy; RADM Amir Chimney, Head of the Technology, Logistics and Material Command of the Israeli Navy; Deputy Director General and Head of the Defence Procurement Directorate at the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Zeev Landau; Israeli Ambassador to Germany, His Excellency Mr. Ron Prosor; VADM Jan Christian Kaack, Chief of the German Navy; representatives of the Israeli Navy and the Ministry of Defence who have been involved in the project; and representatives of the shipyard in Germany.
The ceremony marked the conclusion of the two countries’ joint planning and construction phase, as well as the beginning of the submarine’s voyage to Israel.
INS Drakon is the third and final submarine in the Dolphin-class AIP series purchased by the Ministry of Defence for the Israeli Navy. The submarine incorporates innovative and advanced technologies that place Israel at the forefront of global military technology and will enhance the Israeli Navy’s operational flexibility for years to come.
The Israeli flag was raised aboard the submarine, officially marking the beginning of its voyage to Israel.
The submarine’s departure was accompanied by a large-scale security operation led by the Ministry of Defence’s Security Department in cooperation with German security forces. Upon the arrival of Israel’s sixth submarine, a state ceremony will be held at the Haifa Naval Base.

The entry was secured in order to facilitate the return of livestock belonging to Israeli civilians that had been found in the area of the village. The livestock was identified based on distinguishing marks indicating that it belonged to Israeli civilians.
During the forces’ activity in the area, a violent riot broke out, during which terrorists hurled cinder blocks and stones at the forces. The forces responded by firing at key instigators in order to remove the threat. Hits were identified.

IDF: Drilling dozens of different scenarios and managing emergencies: the 210th Division completes an advanced training exercise to enhance operational readiness in the Golan Heights
The 210th Division completed an advanced exercise in the Golan Heights and along the Syrian border to enhance operational readiness and maintain troops’ capabilities to respond to complex and emerging events.
The exercise involved the entire division’s troops, alongside supporting troops from neighboring areas and the Home Front Command, in cooperation with heads of local authorities, emergency and rescue organizations, and additional entities operating in the area.
The troops drilled dozens of scenarios, including rescuing wounded personnel in the field, responding to mass-casualty incidents, and medical evacuation. In addition, management, command and control during combat, and inter-organizational cooperation were practiced.
The exercise incorporated lessons learned from combat across all arenas, particularly lessons from October 7th, with an emphasis on activating rapid response forces and special forces, directing fire and maintaining readiness across the entire IDF.
The IDF will continue to conduct regular exercises in order to maintain and strengthen the soldiers’ readiness, deepen cooperation between all relevant organizations, and ensure the security of the residents of the Golan Heights and all Israel civilians.

A recognition event for IDF troops and security forces, organized by the State Employees’ Union, was held today (Thursday), led by the Chairman of the State Employees’ Union, Ofir Alkalay, and attended by the IDF Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir; the Head of the IDF Manpower Directorate, MG Dado Bar Kalifa; and additional representatives.
During the conference, the IDF Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, received an award of appreciation for IDF troops on behalf of the State Employees’ Union. Upon receiving the award, the Chief of the General Staff thanked the many partners for their work and contributions. He later visited an exhibition presented at the event, which paid tribute to IDF Chiefs of the General Staff throughout the years.

I stand here solely as the commander of hundreds of thousands of troops and officers—both in mandatory service and the reserves—who carry the security of the state on their shoulders every day, hour by hour. This shield belongs to the reservists who left behind their homes, families, and careers and reported for duty out of a profound sense of mission; it belongs to the families who provide them with unwavering support, and to the fallen and wounded who have paid the highest price. I am merely the representative of an entire military that operates with dedication, determination, and humility, and I accept this recognition in their name and because of them.

We have fundamentally changed our security doctrine—there is no ignoring and no containment; there is the removal of threats before they materialize. We are engaged in a continuous process of learning, drawing lessons and implementing them.
