⚠️ Beware of scams out there. Holo and Holochain will never do an airdrop. Here is a quick word of warning from Holo and Holochain Co-Founder Artbrock.

Remember
👉 Do not send cryptocurrency to anyone promising more cryptocurrency in return, even if they claim to be from Holo or Holochain. These are scams perpetrated by fraudsters with fake accounts.
👉 Please report these fake pages/accounts to keep the community safe! If you see these messages, help others by reporting them and calling them out as scams
👉 At Holochain & Holo we are not giving away any cryptocurrency & we don't do airdrops.

Each year we find ourselves face-to-face with the climate crisis.

We believe we have a role in building a more resilient future.

The article from 2020 on how #Holochain could transform energy systems is still relevant: https://blog.holochain.org/energy-as-a-currency-holochain-and-sustainable-energy/
💦 Paul wrote this article last year during a heat wave. It is still relevant.

Almost ¾ of greenhouse gas emissions come from energy production and it is time to coordinate our efforts to stop the climate crisis. So what can we do?

🌲🌲🌲 Dev Pulse 123 is out!

Various people in the Holochain ecosystem are getting ready for DWeb Camp, a gathering of distributed web builders and supporters in California, USA. It’s happening this week!

Read here: https://blog.holochain.org/preparing-for-dweb-camp/

The Holochain team is ironing out some bugs in Holochain, making sure all the infrastructure is working, and making final calls on which demo hApps we’ll bring with us to show off.

The hREA team is getting excited about weaving peer-to-peer, multi-resource accounting principles into the DWeb story.

Bear, our director of ecosystem growth, is volunteering as a space steward at the People-2-People Tent with Anna Lenakova from Fluence Labs.

Members of projects like Kizuna, Acorn, Flux, Neighbourhoods, Clutter, Core Network, Trust Graph, and Perspect3vism will be there, along with Holo team members and friends from around the community like Marcus and Guillem, who led last month’s Holochain & Rust Developer Immersive.

And we’ll also be joined by Paul Krafel, an ecosystem restorer and elementary school teacher who wrote a book that has nothing to do with computers but has been highly influential to many people in Holochain-land.

Highlights:

Holochain 0.0.152: Replacing coordinator zomes

Holochain 0.0.153: HDI version info in CLI

Holochain 0.0.154: Sandbox gets a new Lair

Holochain 0.0.155: Execution-limiting bug fix

Holochain Launcher 0.4.11: New Holochain versions supported

You know what a DAO is. Have you heard of SACs?

In our latest blog, Eric Harris-Braun and Collin McClain combine forces to write about the main benefits of building distributed organizations that follow the fundamentals of Sovereign Accountable Commons (#SACs).

🧩 In the last Holochain in Action meeting, the community unpacks the entertaining Burner Chat hApp developed by Matthias M, Łukasz G, and Thomas S at the #HolochainImmersive last month

🧩 Holochain in Action is a group in the Holochain community that meets every week to learn, develop, explore and implement design patterns that are appropriate for Holochain.

Who is going to build the #DecentralizedWeb? We all are!

In this blog post, Paul d'Aoust shares how #DWebCamp2022 gives him hope that the internet of the future will have many winners, and will be built by us all and for us all.

Read the blog post here: https://blog.holochain.org/the-dweb-is-an-ensemble-piece/
Why ‘We’ is not just another groupware tool?

🧩Decentralization
🧩Agent-centricity
🧩’Collaborative Power’ functionality
🧩Entirely customizable

The power of the #Holochain ‘We’ hApp comes from how easy it is for both a user and/or a developer to add and layer new collaboration resources, called applets. Devs and users simply add applets to create collaborative spaces that are general, decentralized, and agent centric.

In Anticapture Graham Spencer outlines #DAO governance practices for managing shared resources collectively without a small group capturing control of the resources.
But what happens when your communications infrastructure is captured? https://buff.ly/3r2FD8m

In Capture Resistance Robin Berjon suggests that the infrastructures of the web need to be “subject to either exit or voice (or both).”
Holochain might just provide such a capture resistant architecture. https://buff.ly/3dzTIHa
