Most people know me as an entrepreneur who moved to Moscow in 2017 and literally from the first months built a successful media business that earned several million dollars at a young age and throughout my life has mostly done successful projects. But few understand that every entrepreneur has a path of dozens, or even hundreds, of failed projects for one reason or another, unclaimed products, and bankrupt companies.
Starting from my studies at lyceum, when I bought gaming magazines "Igromania" and game discs, copying them onto blanks, and on a sheet of A4 paper wrote a price list, selling them to other lyceum students. And already at 15 I tried opening Lineage 2 game servers, but I wanted to make them not just within the city, as it was with computer clubs, but nationwide, so that's when I started creating websites with those who joined me. There was experience working at the Federal Tax Service, in a network company, and freelancing didn't pass me by either.
Simultaneously with this, informational portals about social networks were already being created; then, on the earned profit, I began buying up forums (which gave good traffic and influence on the masses, but due to their business structure didn't bring big money, so buying them was quite cheap). And only after that, I started getting into SEO services, resale of digital goods, starting from forums and a small team, coming to my own e-commerce project, while simultaneously doing several launches, incurring losses, constantly cycling through new employees in the team.
And only after that did the famous Hockey Stick happen for me, loved by all venture investors, where all my business metrics literally multiplied by their KPIs x2 every month for a year. And I'm adding to your piggy bank a vivid example from Oscar Hartmann's recent speech, which I wanted to share with you. And when you next see someone's "sudden success" — remember, behind it always lies a long graveyard of ideas, teams, and companies, just like mine and like Oscar Hartmann's.
