Гадаю, шо в Словаччині, як і в будь-якій цивілізованій країні, є так звана «защита от дурака» - комплекс заходів, що не дозволяють людині, яка знаходиться на надвисокій керівній посаді, поводити себе як самодержець чи фараон

Тому правильним в даному випадку буде менш клікбейтний заголовок, по типу

В Словаччині обговорюють можливість не надавати Україні електроенергію під час відключень світла

В Словаччині шукають технічну можливість не надавати Україні енергетичну допомогу

Парламент Словаччини обговорює законність та правовий статус ненадання допомоги Україні на вимогу фіцо

Ну і так далі.

Питання не в фіцо, як такому насправді. Питання в наслідках для самої Словаччини:

якшо сьогодні політики нададуть можливість одній людині приймати подібні рішення, то закінчитися для країни це може ну дуже погано - не факт шо після фіцо не прийде ще більш йобнутий політик (чи просто прокремлівський), який захоче або змінити конституцію, або оголосити війну комусь з сусідів одноосібно, або запропонує рф збудувати військову базу в себе в країні

Самодурство при владі небезпечно, в першу чергу, для країни, де таке відбувається. Цікаво чи розуміють серйозність ситуації самі громадяни Словаччини.

Shadow ban from NATO to Russia. Details.

Yesterday I read a media report that high-tech Russian radio communications equipment was being transported on the Eagle S tanker, which is currently in custody after the Estlink-2 cable was damaged in the Baltic. "They were tracking all NATO naval ships and aircraft," Lloyd's List reported. So I decided to find the original source

Here is the article in full:

"The Russian-linked Eagle S tanker suspected of damaging an undersea electrical cable on Christmas Day was equipped with special transceivers that were used to monitor naval activities, according to a source directly involved with the vessel, which was later detained by Finnish police.

The Eagle S tanker (IMO: 9329760), which belongs to Russia's "shadow fleet" and was seized by Finland on 25 December for damaging an underwater cable, was fitted with transceivers that effectively allowed it to become a "spy ship" for Russia, Lloyd's List reports.

The high-tech equipment on board was atypical for a merchant vessel and consumed more power from the ship's generator, leading to repeated power outages, according to a source familiar with the ship who provided commercial maritime services to it seven months ago.

Like the Eagle S, another related tanker from the same cluster of owners, the UK-registered Swiftsea Rider (IMO: 9318539), also had similar equipment installed, Lloyd's List said.

The Cook Islands-flagged Eagle S and the Honduran-flagged Swiftsea Rider are two of 26 older tankers linked to Russia, with opaque ownership structures linked to three related shipowners, including two that were sanctioned by the UK government 12 months ago for "supporting Putin's war machine".

The tankers were acquired between 2022 and 2023 and placed on bareboat charter to Eiger Shipping, the shipping arm of Russian oil trader Litasco, in order to circumvent the sanctions.

The Eagle S was boarded by Finnish forces investigating the sabotage of the Estlink 2 submarine cable, which disrupted electricity supplies to Estonia from Finland.

The tanker slowed down and dragged its anchor around the cable around noon on 25 December, Finnish police said. Three other cables were also damaged.

The source, who declined to be identified to protect his safety, provided at least 60 confidential documents about the Eagle S to Lloyd's List in June, including an inspection report describing numerous safety deficiencies found during an inspection conducted while the tanker was anchored in Danish waters that month.

These and other documents relating to the "shadow fleet" tankers, containing confidential proprietary information on class, insurance, flag and other technical and regulatory requirements, were confirmed as genuine at the time.

In July, Lloyd's List reported serious deficiencies in the Eagle S tanker that put environmental and crew safety at risk, and highlighted poor maintenance and non-compliance with regulatory and technical standards for the entire shadow fleet.

The source subsequently provided additional information, telling Lloyd's List that an unauthorised person who was not a seafarer had been detected on board the Eagle S.

According to the source, the listening and recording equipment was brought onto the 20-year-old tanker in "huge portable suitcases" along with "many laptops" that had keyboards for Turkish and Russian to make calls to Turkey and Russia.

They said the equipment was stored on a bridge or "monkey island". The monkey island is the highest place on the ship.

The transmitting and receiving devices were used to record all radio frequencies, and upon arrival in Russia, they were unloaded for analysis.

"They were tracking all NATO warships and aircraft," Lloyd's List said.

"They had all the information about them. They just matched their frequencies.

"They were operated by Russian, Turkish, Indian radio telephony officers."

They said the Eagle S also dropped "sensor type devices" into the English Channel during transit.

They stated that, to their knowledge, no analysis equipment was returned to the vessel after discharge, but that other devices were placed on another Swiftsea Rider tanker associated with the vessel.

Allegations that Russian-linked merchant vessels are being used for espionage and sabotage activities in the Baltic Sea, where Russia is surrounded by NATO allies, highlight the growing geopolitical tensions in the region amid calls from European political leaders for greater protection of maritime infrastructure.

The damage to the Estlink 2 cable is the second time vital undersea cables between Allies have been damaged in two months, and the first time authorities have taken a commercial vessel suspected of sabotage into custody.In November, the Chinese-flagged bulk carrier Yi Peng 3 (IMO: 9224984) was accused of over-anchoring, damaging the C-Lion 1 communication cable connecting Finland and Germany.

The bulk carrier spent more than four weeks in international waters in the Danish Straits while German, Swedish, Danish and Finnish officials investigated, but sailed last Saturday. The crew of the Eagle S should have known about the ship's spying activities "because it's impossible to hide", but "their lives were in danger, so everyone kept quiet", the source said.

"They replaced the captains when the issue was raised," the source said.

The beneficial owners of Eagle S and Swiftsea Rider are hidden behind complex corporate structures. The registered owner of the Eagle S is a single-ship entity with an office in the business centre of a luxury hotel in Dubai.

It is not possible to contact the ship's owner, Peninsular Maritime India Private Limited, based in Mumbai. One of the phone numbers listed on the company's website was not answered. The second number hung up when asked if it was Peninsular Maritime's phone number. Emails were not answered.

The company's website claims to be registered in England, suggesting that it is most likely a copy-and-paste template that is often found in "shadow fleet" shipping companies.
Lloyd's List defines a tanker as part of the shadow fleet if it is 15 years old or older, is anonymously owned and/or has a corporate structure designed to confuse beneficial owners, is engaged exclusively in sanctioned oil transactions, and engages in one or more of the deceptive shipping practices described in the US Department of State's guidance published in May 2020. These figures do not include tankers traced to government-controlled shipping companies, such as Russia's Sovcomflot or Iran's National Iranian Tanker Co, or those already under sanctions."

Epilogue. For those who do not know, Lloyd's List is one of the oldest and most respected publications in the world, specialising in shipping, trade, insurance and maritime logistics.

It's actually a dinosaur, not a newspaper - founded in 1734, it began as a handwritten list of ships and events at Lloyd's Coffee House in London. Initially, the publication contained information on ship arrivals and departures, maritime accidents and news of importance to shipowners and insurers. Over time, it has become a key source of data for the global maritime industry. In the 19th century, Lloyd's List became an important tool for marine insurers, brokers and traders. In 2013, the publication went completely digital, discontinuing the print version.

In short, these are not mummy's boys, but people who value their reputation above all else. The same applies to the documents that Lloyd's List writes about - if the newspaper says that there are 60 documents on the condition of the ship, then those documents exist, otherwise the publication will suffer reputational losses

In the end, only one thing is clear: given that we are talking about NATO security + a direct, proven act of espionage against NATO, it is interesting how the alliance itself will respond to such actions. The bourgeois can either demonstratively humiliate the Russians by providing journalists with facts about the espionage activities of the ship and crew, who were in NATO waters + deliberately committed a crime, or...
