Selling Conscience. Cheap. Ask Harald.
Preamble. Collaborating with Nazis is bad. But if you’re Putin, it’s acceptable. That’s the logic of the current Russian government. After all, as Putin himself once said, Goebbels was a “talented man” who “achieved his goals.”
But let’s take it step by step, because the guy in the video isn’t just a tool—there’s no space left on him to stamp a brand. Let me share a few highlights from his biography. Here we go.
Harald Vilimsky once chaired the Austrian-Ukrainian Friendship Group during Viktor Yanukovych’s presidency in Ukraine. Back then, it was proven that Western politicians were being paid, including figures like former Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer (SPÖ) for lobbying efforts. At the time, Vilimsky supported Ukraine’s EU accession.
But here’s what Vilimsky said on June 1, 2024:
“What’s next? NATO ground forces in the Russian-Ukrainian war? That would mean the risk of World War III spiraling out of control, with unimaginable consequences for Europe and its citizens. This irresponsible escalation must finally stop—especially for the sake of our own population’s security!” emphasized Vilimsky.
The far-right Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ), with Vilimsky as its General Secretary, has been part of Austria’s coalition government since December 2017. In December 2016, the party signed a five-year cooperation agreement with “United Russia.” Members of the FPÖ have repeatedly called for lifting sanctions against Russia and visited annexed Crimea.
On May 1, 2018, Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s far-right, hosted a meeting of her Russian (European) allies in southern France to condemn the EU and celebrate the successes of nationalist movements across the continent. Guess who attended this meeting in Nice? None other than Harald Vilimsky, General Secretary of the Austrian Freedom Party. Totally not suspicious, right?
In 2014, the Freedom Party refrained from criticizing the annexation of Crimea and Russian military actions against Ukraine. Moreover, in March 2014, Johann Gudenus, deputy leader of the Freedom Party, and National Council deputy Johannes Hübner were among the “international observers” who issued a “positive” report on the “referendum” held in Crimea, which was already occupied by Russian forces. The trip of these “observers” was paid for by the pro-Russian organization “Eurasian Observatory for Democracy and Elections,” led by Belgian “national Bolshevik” Luc Michel, who is closely linked to Russia.
In December 2016, when Russian-backed Syrian government forces captured Aleppo, causing massive civilian casualties, the FPÖ signed a “Coordination and Cooperation Agreement” with United Russia. Senior FPÖ representatives, including Norbert Hofer (then a National Council member), Gudenus, and Harald Vilimsky, traveled to Moscow for consultations.
A year later, these three became, respectively, Austria’s Vice Chancellor, Transport Minister, and acting Freedom Party parliamentary faction leader. But sure, Moscow has nothing to do with it. That’s just paranoia, right?
By the way, the Freedom Party isn’t exactly beloved by Jewish communities. In 2001, the head of Vienna’s Jewish community, Ariel Muzicant, accused Austria’s far-right Freedom Party of failing to break with extremism and continuing to shelter covert Nazis. FPÖ member Harald Vilimsky responded by claiming such accusations existed only in Muzicant’s imagination, stating he couldn’t distinguish extremists from Austrian patriots. Muzicant later won a court case against Jörg Haider. More on Haider later—stay tuned.
The party Vilimsky belongs to was founded in 1956 in Austria. Its first leader, the man in the photo everyone knows, was Anton Reinthaller—a former Nazi Agriculture Minister, SS officer, and recipient of the Nazi Party’s Gold Badge of Honor.
There are reports that Reinthaller controlled a region along the Danube, but that’s less interesting than the fact that this Austrian Aryan was sentenced in 1950 and 1952 to 3 and 2.

5 years of imprisonment, respectively, for supporting the National Socialist regime and treason.
But in Russia, they only remember Bandera. Anyway, don’t switch channels; I’ll now briefly mention another FPÖ figure who’s totally not a Nazi.
Jörg Haider took over leadership of the party in 1986. He became infamous for his controversial remarks about the Third Reich, which often hinted at blatant Nazi sympathies. For instance, he referred to concentration camps as “prison camps” and said, “The Waffen-SS were part of the Wehrmacht and thus deserve the same respect as the regular army.”
While Haider denied ideological ties to Nazism, calling such claims “misunderstandings,” he assured critics that no one needed to pack their bags while the Freedom Party was in power. He insisted democracy was “in safe hands” under their leadership.
But, of course, the suspicion remained. Plus, a Jewish leader took Haider to court.
Epilogue: Why so many words?
As you can see for yourself, Vilimsky is not an independent politician. He’s just a guy on United Russia’s payroll who would never disobey an order from the Kremlin.
The Austrian party’s links to Nazis are fine by Putin. After all, he himself collaborated with the world’s second-ranking Nazi: https://tttttt.me/gistapapapa/44114 And the fact that Putin’s informant was also killed in Dresden? Just a coincidence, sure.
Moral of the story: Learn to read the news correctly. Not “an Austrian MEP said…” but “a representative of an Austrian party founded by Nazis said…”
