Major Natasha: The Daily Grind of Information Warfare

Last night, I had the fantastic opportunity to confirm that the Russian Federation clearly recruits from schools for the mentally challenged. So, I decided to share with you a vivid example of how Russians operate in the information space.

For those who don’t feel like reading all the screenshots, here’s the full translation of the correspondence below. In short, stay tuned. Let’s go. Natasha’s lines are marked in the dialogue, while my responses are unmarked.

Natasha: This is a document from an Armenian-Russian logistics company. On December 15, Western military equipment is planned to be transferred from Armenia to Russia.

What’s the level of authenticity of this information, and is it not a fake? Good evening.

Natasha: Can you write in English? [Provides a link to the company’s website.]

What’s the level of authenticity? How can I know this isn’t disinformation?

Natasha: The authenticity level is 100%. The document was obtained directly from a company representative.

What kind of equipment are we talking about? It’s not visible in the document.

The quantity of equipment? The route of transportation? At what time will the equipment be moved? Why did you decide to send this to me?

Natasha: Caesar – a truck equipped with an artillery system (French self-propelled howitzer). VBL – French light armored vehicle. Bastion – Bastion armored personnel carrier (a fully armored French vehicle). Akash Hind – Akash Surface-to-Air Missile System (Indian medium-range air defense system). Milan – light infantry anti-tank missile (Franco-Indian portable anti-tank guided missile). Information about the route and quantity will be provided after the document is published.

This isn’t a dump for publishing unverified information – Photoshop capabilities are practically unlimited these days.
Why did you send this document to me and not, say, The New York Times? Wouldn’t this be a major scandal?

Natasha: I didn’t call your channel a dump. I shared the information, and you decide how to use it. I found your channel in the “Similar Channels” section of other Ukrainian channels. You have high activity, so I decided to send it to you. As for The New York Times – thanks for the idea; I’ll follow up. Good luck.

Eto razvod, tovarisch.

Natasha: I don’t understand.

In recent years, Armenia and France have significantly intensified military cooperation, leading to several deliveries of French weapons to Armenia. Below is a list of key materials:
Bastion armored vehicles: In December 2023, Armenia received 24 out of the planned 50 Bastion armored vehicles produced in France; the rest are in production.
Night vision devices: In February 2024, Armenia received its first batch of night vision devices from French manufacturers.
GM200 radar systems: In October 2023, France agreed to sell Armenia three Ground Master 200 (GM200) radar systems capable of detecting air targets up to 250 km away.
CAESAR self-propelled howitzers: In June 2024, Armenia signed a contract with France to purchase CAESAR howitzers.
Mistral missile systems: France expressed readiness to supply Armenia with Mistral short- and medium-range missiles for air defense systems if necessary.

Additionally, France is assisting in training Armenian officers by providing opportunities to study at its military academies.

Citizens of Russia, try again.
By the way, I’m not sure what they taught you in Russian Federation schools, but your level is rather poor.

If you worked for me, it’d be as a janitor (provided you pass the broom-handling test).
The attempt to discredit Armenia failed.

Natasha: How does this document disprove itself? You just confirmed what’s written there.

For those who don’t understand the context or why this is about “Major Natasha”: as of 2024, France has been supplying a significant amount of weapons to Armenia, which has recognized the superiority of Western weapons over Russian ones. Therefore, a potential scandal could put Armenia in an uncomfortable position and force the country to purchase weapons from Russia.

This is exactly what the Chekists wanted to achieve: to spread a fake through a Ukrainian information platform, which is more trusted than Russian media. This way, they could later point to Ukrainians as the original source, while Russia itself remains in the shadows, and all Russian media outlets would cite the Ukrainian “original.”

But it didn’t work out. So I started openly mocking Natasha:

Natasha: Unfortunately, you are mistaken in your arguments, and over time, you will see that yourself. All the best.

Who benefits from discrediting Armenia right now?
Who recently declared that Armenia does not see itself as part of the CSTO?
Who stands to lose arms sales if this information simply leaks online?
Who benefits from Armenia not receiving weapons and instead buying from Russia?

This is an international scandal.

And I haven’t even looked into who owns the website where this so-called document is hosted.

Natasha: My friend, I won’t try to convince you of anything since you have already baselessly accused me of all political sins, although my goal was to prevent what is allegedly planned according to this document. You are free to analyze and think as you wish. As for the website, take a closer look at it, as well as the company, and you will understand a lot.

Natasha: I simply gave you examples of how this information is a tool to discredit the Armenian government, which refused to buy Russian weapons.

I see no point in being a tool for discrediting the Armenian government, which abandoned the pro-Russian course.

Natasha: I understand your reasoning, and it has the right to exist. But why do you think Armenia has abandoned Russian weapons? If you are familiar with military-political processes, you should understand that the West cannot provide Armenia with enough weapons. As far as I recall, there was recent information about Russia sending military equipment to Armenia. If you want, I can find this information for you.

Shall we switch to Russian?

After all, we’re all adults here.

I think it will be easier for you to communicate in Russian.

Natasha: No offense, but I’m already an adult, and you’re still young and inexperienced. I’ll be happy to converse with you in Russian as soon as I learn it, and I promise to notify you immediately. Once again, all the best.

Tovarisch, a pogovorit’? Did you back out? What’s your first language (native, I mean)? I’m genuinely curious.

Natasha: What’s the point of writing to me in a language I don’t understand? Is that all you’re interested in? :) That’s the dumbest thing.

Are you serious?

Hi, Natasha.

Natasha: If you knew what “Samaya” means in Hinduism, you probably wouldn’t joke about it.

Major, what other versions do you have? What does your boss suggest?

Say hi to the colonel.

Natasha: Good luck.

Natasha, let’s switch to Russian.

End of chat.

Epilogue.
The attempt to discredit Armenians failed due to the utterly unprofessional actions of “Major Natasha,” who considered the author too stupid and greedy for sensationalism. This was the essence of the operation—few bloggers would resist the opportunity to spark an international scandal.

However, as you can once again see, the devil is always in the details. The Chekists slipped up by choosing a nickname that looked very Russian (or maybe taSamaya was just a coincidence) and assuming my ignorance about the situation with Armenia.

The whole scheme was executed in classic scammer style: first, awaken the victim’s greed, after which they’ll no longer let go of the bait, allowing you to achieve the desired result with minimal effort.

But… experience is experience. And that means Natasha, born in 1990, failed her mission. And for that, I congratulate her.

Moral: Damn, hiring through classified ads, huh? What a disgrace.

The end.
