Voice of America (VOA) managers met multiple times with Chinese officials seeking to influence more favorable U.S. coverage of their country, part of a larger dynamic that proved to the "detriment of America" and its taxpayer-funded media operation for the world, Trump adviser Kari Lake told Just the News.
Lake, the president's senior adviser for the U.S. Agency for Global Media, said the meetings with communist China officials both in Washington and abroad were discovered as part of an investigation that exposed undue foreign influence on the VOA's operations.
Lake said the coverage was skewed to portray the country in a positive light, and that at least one VOA official with the Mandarin language division had pledged his support for the CCP at one of the meetings.
Lake also confirmed previous Just the News reporting that VOA hired multiple Chinese nationals with ties to Chinese state media, and sponsored hundreds of visas for other foreign journalists to come work at the USAGM subsidiary.
The agency used J1 cultural exchange visas, which are not designed for use as a general work authorization, to sponsor more than 400 foreign journalists from 2009 through the end of the last administration. Nearly 100 of those are from countries that could present particular security concerns, including at least three Chinese nationals who worked for Chinese Communist Party-controlled state-owned media outlets.

Chenguang Gong, a 59-year-old resident of San Jose, pled guilty on Monday to stealing missile-tracking technology from a research and development firm in the Los Angeles area.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) described Gong as a dual citizen of the United States and China. He came to the United States around 1993 and became a U.S. citizen in 2011. He earned a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Clemson and has done Ph.D. work at Stanford.
He was hired by the unnamed research and development firm in January 2023 as an โapplication-specific integrated circuit design manager responsible for the design, development and verification of its infrared sensors.โ
Three months after he was hired, Gong allegedly began downloading thousands of files from his work computer to โpersonal storage devices.โ Many of those files contained proprietary data and trade secrets, including details of a space-based system for detecting missile launches and tracking hypersonic weapons.
The company Gong took the files from was also involved with designing sensors that allow American military aircraft to detect and defeat heat-seeking missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is facing protests across the country after signing a controversial bill on Tuesday that critics say will neuter the independence of two prominent anti-corruption bodies.
As Ukrainian and Russian delegations prepare to meet in Istanbul, Turkey, for a new round of ceasefire talks, Zelenskyy and his allies are facing a groundswell of opposition at home.
On Tuesday, Zelenskyy signed a controversial law passed by parliament that will bring the Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and its partner organization, the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), under the direct control of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO).
Both bodies were set up in the aftermath of Ukraine's pro-Western Maidan Revolution in 2014, with the intention of rooting out systemic corruption and helping Kyiv reform its democratic system with an eye on European Union accession.

But of course๐: Left-wing organizations linked financially to George and Alexander Sorosโs Open Society Foundations are suing President Donald Trumpโs administration, claiming illegal aliens at Floridaโs โAlligator Alcatrazโ detention center are having their First and Fifth Amendment rights violated.
A lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), representing a handful of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and illegal aliens, is asking a federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Trumpโs Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for allegedly violating the so-called due process rights of Alligator Alcatraz detainees.
The lawsuit claims the Trump administration is violating the First and Fifth Amendment rights of about 700 illegal aliens currently held at Alligator Alcatraz by allegedly banning in-person legal visitation, confidential communications, and confidential exchanges of documents.
ACLU lawyers have said Alligator Alcatraz is cruel because of its proximity to alligators, pythons, mosquitoes, and swampland.

Eight children from the same choir were raced to hospital mid-performance after suffering seizures in a church.
The horror episode unfolded around 7pm Monday in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as the children all experienced seizures at the same time.
Some of the children said that they started feeling unwell during their choir performance at St. Paul's Parish church due to an odor, reports WCVB. Witnesses also told first responders they smelled an odor, however crews reportedly said they did not detect any strange smells when they arrived.
All of the children were aged between 11 and 13 and were part of a traveling choir from France.
Cambridge Fire Chief Thomas Cahill said that the situation 'quickly escalated', and said the children were all transported to nearby hospitals. Their condition is unknown.
'This was somewhat unusual,' Cahill said. 'It was a routine medical call that quickly escalated into transporting eight children to the hospital. Not common.' Officials said they are baffled by what caused the mass-seizures, as hazmat teams scoured the building and found nothing that appeared to have triggered it.
Cahill said that the children showed no signs of being unwell prior to the performance. He told the Boston Globe: 'At this time we are not sure of what caused the reaction.' He said that the choir performers are expected to be OK, but did not offer details over their conditions.
Fire crews and hazmat teams conducted a sweep of the building and found no hazardous materials, and said they were ventilated as a precaution.

The Open Market Japan may be as big a profit factor as the Tariffs themselves, but was only gotten because of the Tariff Power. They also agreed to buy BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF MILITARY AND OTHER EQUIPMENT, and give us 90% of 550 BILLION DOLLARS - AND MORE!!! MAGA!!!

A New York man is facing federal charges after allegedly building and stashing homemade bombs across Manhattan, including on active subway tracks and residential rooftops.
Michael Gann, 55, of Inwood, was charged Tuesday with manufacturing at least seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs) using chemicals he bought online, according to U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton.
Authorities say Gannโs alleged actions included throwing an IED onto the Williamsburg Bridge subway tracks and hoarding explosives, some with shotgun shells, above Manhattan apartment buildings.
He was arrested June 5 with another device on him, officials said. On Instagram on the same day, Gann reportedly posted, "Who wants me to go out to play like no tomorrow?"
FBI Assistant Director Christopher Raia credited the "swift partnership" between agencies for stopping Gann before he could inflict harm. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the coordinated effort "intervened before he caused any harm."
"This defendant allegedly stockpiled homemade explosives and traveled to New York City with these deadly devices," Tisch said in the release.
"He threw one of these devices onto an active subway track and stored others on the rooftop of a residential building, but because of the skilled investigative work and swift response from the NYPD and our partners, we were able to intervene before he caused any harm."

Sad news: My boss just informed us that he's filing for bankruptcy, and our company will likely shut down by September. It's frustrating because this feels directly tied to Jerome Powell not lowering interest ratesโpeople aren't buying homes, which means no work for us in the industry.
That said, I'm on the hunt for new opportunities. If any of my amazing subscribers (or your networks) are hiring for work-from-home roles or positions in the news/media space, I'd love to chat. LIBERAL MEDIA: President Donald Trump hung up on CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski after just 30 seconds Tuesday when the journalist called to ask about resurfaced images showing Jeffrey Epstein at the presidentโs 1993 wedding to his second wife, Marla Maples.
The photos, released by CNNโs KFile, show Epstein at Trumpโs Plaza Hotel wedding and socializing with Trump and his children at a Harley-Davidson Cafe event that same year.๐คก
Speaking about the photos on Tuesday night, CNN anchor Erin Burnett said the material had โnever been seenโ before and forms part of a broader archival review, framing the reporting as exclusive.
Kaczynski, however, admitted in his article that the photos were available on Google Images and content library Shutterstock. He argued their renewed significance in that they โhave not been widely reported and pre-date any of Epsteinโs known legal issues.โ

ICYMI:On Tuesday, Senator Rand Paul encouraged the Trump administration to prosecute Dr. Anthony Fauci, proposing to "Charge Someone Who Was Pardoned" as a means to test the validity of pardons issued by President Biden.
โDo you actually think that because the pardon for Anthony Fauci was signed by AutoPen, there could potentially be some legal way that we could still hold Anthony Fauci criminally accountable, Senator?โ Kirk asked Paul during their extended discussion.
โI think we donโt know, but the only way to do it is to challenge it. So, for example, I do believe Anthony Fauci committed a felony by lying to Congress,โ responded Paul, a vocal critic who lately recommended Fauci to the DOJ for prosecution.
โSo you have to charge him with a felony, take him to court, and then the court will decide whether or not the pardon is upheld. You can argue until youโre blue in the face that you canโt do AutoPen and that maybe the president wasnโt aware of it. But the only way to actually do this is to charge someone who has been pardoned,โ Paul contended, indicating it might serve as a precedent for additional Biden pardons.
โI think Anthony Fauci is the most likely to be chargeable. There are other peopleโHunter Biden could be charged as wellโbut someone has to be charged. You have to take it to court, and then you have to decide. I think in Hunter Bidenโs case, he actually did physically sign it,โ Paul added.

The Daily Mail reports that Senator Kennedy of Louisiana appeared to suddenly freeze during a TV interview while on air. Fox News Host Kudlow blamed technical difficulties, saying it was the same mic they'd just lost Senator Rand Paul on.
Kennedy was speaking to host Larry Kudlow on Tuesday about the Trump administration's stance on sanctuary cities when the "concerning" moment occurred. He began to trail off while referencing how Jesus loves immigrants.
'Jesus loves them, but everybody else thinks โฆ.' Kennedy said, before mumbling a few barely-audible words. 'Everybody else thinksโฆ' he repeated before looking off into the distance and going completely silent.
The senator remained frozen on camera with his lips slightly parted and eyes staring forward as he stood motionless. Kudlow appeared caught off guard but quickly cut in and blamed the bizarre moment on an apparent tech issue.
'I guess we had some more technical problems. That was the same mic we lost with Senator Rand Paul,' Kudlow said.

Kilmar Abrego Garciaโs attorneys have asked a federal judge in Tennessee to order the Trump administration to stop making statements about his case after Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem publicly called him a "horrible human being" who should "never be released."
Abrego, a Maryland resident, was erroneously deported in March to El Salvador, and his case became a flashpoint in the Trump administrationโs crackdown on immigration, sparking concerns over a lack of due process. Heโs now being held in Nashville, Tennessee, on human smuggling charges.
In a filing Tuesday, Abregoโs attorneys asked U.S. District Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw, who is overseeing the human smuggling case, to ensure the government complies with the courtโs rules regarding extrajudicial statements to ensure Abrego is afforded a fair trial.

The Trump administration unveiled Wednesday a framework for its artificial intelligence (AI) policy, placing a heavy emphasis on boosting U.S. innovation, building out data center infrastructure and promoting American technology abroad.
The 28-page AI Action Plan lays out the administrationโs approach to the rapidly developing technology, putting forward more than 90 policy actions for โnear-term executionโ by the federal government.
The plan seeks to remove what the Trump administration deems as โonerousโ regulations at both the federal and state level. This includes limiting funding to states over their AI rules, as well as tasking the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with evaluating whether certain state AI regulations interfere with its mandate.
The framework also calls for a review of the Federal Trade Commissionโs (FTC) investigations launched under the Biden administration โto ensure that they do not advance theories of liability that unduly burden AI innovation.โ
