Diversity of Slavic samples in Balkans

Analysis:-

1.We detected highest baltic bronze age dna in Serbia Roman sample R6759 sample suggesting a relatively less mixed slavic individual in Balkans.

2.We detected low balkan blood levels in at least 3 samples.All of them are from Serbia Roman period.

3.These three Serbian samples are unique because sample number R9673 and R6759 are literally closer to modern Balts and Pskov Russians.Sample number I32305 is closer to modern Russians from Nizhniy_Novgorod.

4.Rest samples show similarities with Ukrainians and Poles.

5.There are two arguments about Slavic invasions in Balkans.First argument quiet famous in genetic community of Cyrillic world is that early slavs who entered Balkans were not mixed rather very similar to Balts and Pskov_Russians however now comes second argument some people differ and say Slavs which entered Balkans were already mixed with Daco Thracians.Which argument do you like? 1. Мы обнаружили самый высокий уровень ДНК балтийского бронзового века в сербском образце римского периода R6759, что указывает на наличие относительно менее смешанного славянского индивида на Балканах.

2. Мы обнаружили низкий уровень балканской примеси как минимум в трех образцах. Все они относятся к римскому периоду в Сербии.

Visigoth samples dna analysis


Visigoths were a prominent East Germanic people, one of the major Gothic branches, who played a huge role in the decline of the Western Roman Empire by migrating into its territories, sacking Rome in 410 CE, and establishing powerful kingdoms in Gaul and Hispania (modern Spain and Portugal) during the Early Middle Ages. They were known for their military might, eventual conversion to Nicene Christianity, and lasting cultural impact in Southwestern Europe.
➡️Analysis:-

1.Visigothic sample from Spain sample number:-I12162 is very germanic among these samples since it scores high germanic bronze age dna so it makes sense.It is also closer to modern Afrikaaners.

2.These Visigothic samples have Proto-Italo-Celtic dna which may suggest mixing with Italics and Celtics.

3.In order to detect Iberian ancestry we use Iberian chalcolithic samples because early iberians were most likely mixture of Bell Beaker and Iberian Chalcolithic.We observe Iberian inputs in I12034,I3775,I3777 and I3866 sample.

4.We detected middle east anatolian ancestry in almost all samples suggesting imperial roman impact on people however one sample I12034 has lowest middle east ancestry and it clusters with modern Aragonese spanish folks.

5.We detected Proto_Balto_Slavic dna in samples since Visigoths have mixed with eastern europeans which makes sense.

6.We detected small north african maghrebi dna in sample I12162,I3777 and I3866 samples

Вестготы (визиготы) — выдающийся восточногерманский народ, одна из крупнейших ветвей готов. Вестготы были известны своей военной мощью, последующим переходом в никейское христианство и глубоким культурным влиянием на Юго-Западную Европу.

➡️ Результаты анализа:

1. Образец I12162 из Испании является самым «германским» среди представленных. В нём зафиксирована наибольшая доля ДНК германского бронзового века, что выглядит закономерно. Примечательно, что по генетическому профилю этот индивид близок к современным африканерам.

2. В данных образцах присутствует прото-итало-кельтская ДНК, что может указывать на смешение с италийскими и кельтскими племенами.

3. Для выявления иберийских корней мы использовали ДНК иберийского энеолита (медного века), так как древнее население Иберии, вероятнее всего, представляло собой смесь культуры колоколовидных кубков и местного энеолитического субстрата. Иберийский вклад отчетливо наблюдается в образцах I12034, I3775, I3777 и I3866.

4. Почти во всех образцах была обнаружена ближневосточная (анатолийская) примесь, что указывает на влияние Римской империи. Однако образец I12034 имеет самый низкий показатель этого компонента и генетически группируется с современными испанцами из Арагона.

5. В образцах зафиксирована прото-балто-славянская ДНК. Это подтверждает исторические факты о контактах и смешении вестготов с народами Восточной Европы во время их миграций.

6. В образцах I12162, I3777 и I3866 выявлены небольшие следы североафриканской (магрибской) ДНК.

Stature: Mean height approximately 178 cm overall, with intergenerational variation evident—elderly cohorts averaging ~175 cm and younger adults ~181 cm, attributable to positive secular growth.

Cranial form: Cephalic index estimated at 77–79, representing a decline of 2–4 units from mid-20th-century means (~81), indicative of a shift toward mesocephaly with dolichocephalic tendencies.

Facial morphology: Leptoprosopic to upper mesoprosopic (facial index ~90), characterized by vertical elongation; mean face height ~126 mm, breadth ~140 mm.

Nasal morphology: Leptorrhine (nasal index ~63), with straight profile predominant (~75%).

Hair pigmentation (Fischer–Saller scale):

To understand Volga tatars like Kazan and Mishar we approach them using soviet anthropology.Volga Tatars are of four types

1.Steppe Variant
2.Kama Variant
3.Volga-Kama-Steppe-Variant
4.Volga-Kama type

Steppe Variant:-A sharp, elongated face with a prominent nose and dark hair

Kama Variant:-A rounder, softer face with lighter eyes and brown hair.

Volga-Kama-Steppe Variant:-A well-proportioned face — not too sharp, not too round — with dark hair.

Volga-Kama type:-A solid, balanced face with brown or dark hair and calm features.

Чтобы понять поволжских татар, таких как казанские и мишарские, мы подходим к ним с точки зрения советской антропологии. Поволжские татары бывают четырех типов:

1. Степной вариант: Резкое, вытянутое лицо с заметным носом и темными волосами.
2. Камский вариант: Более круглое, мягкое лицо со светлыми глазами и каштановыми волосами.
