Android and Chrome will still be part of Google
- in August 2024, a US district judge deemed Google a monopoly, possibly threatening the company to sell some of its products
- Fast forward a year later, the short answer is: Google will not need to sell Android and Chrome
- Google can also continue to pay to maintain its default position in other products
- However, Google will be barred from exclusive contracts that required companies to preload certain Google services to license Play Store
- Additionally, Google has to share certain search data with qualified competitors to promote competition
