As for the one performing the ruqyah, then he should wipe with his right hand upon the sick person and say:
(1) "O Allaah, Lord of the people! Remove the sickness and cure the person for it is you who is the Healer. No healing is of any avail besides Your healing; (Heal them) a healing that leaves behind no illness."

Al-Bukhari (5743) and Muslim (2191) from the hadith of the mother of the believers โ€˜Aisha ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ุง, He ๏ทบ used to visit some of his family, wipe with his right hand and sayโ€ฆ while in one narration of Al-Bukhari:

Al-Bukhari (5742) from the hadith Anas ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡.

(3) "In the Name of Allaah. The earth of our land and the saliva of some of us cure our sick one by the will of Lord.โ€

Al-Bukhari (5745) and Muslim (2194) from the hadith of the Mother of the believers โ€˜Aisha ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡ุง. In the narration of Muslim โ€œโ€ฆthat if someone fell sick of suffered an ailment of injury, the Messenger ๏ทบ would do this with his finger- Sufyaan (a narrator) placed his index finger on the ground then raised itโ€ฆ to the end of the narration.

And what is meant by the hadith, is that he would put some of his saliva on his index finger then he would put it on the ground. There would then remain some (dirt) upon his finger then he would wipe the part which (of the person) which was injured or he was ailing from. And he ๏ทบ would say these supplication while he is wiping (the place). {Explanation by al-Imam an-Nawawi}

(4) โ€œBy the name of Allaah I perform ruqyah for you, for everything which is harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye may Allaah heal you. In the name of Allaah I perform ruqyah for you.โ€

Muslim (2186) from the hadith of Abu Sโ€™aeed al-Khudri ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡. This was the ruqyah of Jibreel for the Messenger ๏ทบ.

(5) โ€œI ask Allaah the Most Great, the owner of the Majestic Throne to heal you.โ€

Al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-Mufrad (pg. 189) from the hadith of Bin โ€˜Abbaas ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡: When the Messenger ๏ทบ used to visit an ill person he would sit near his head and recite seven times โ€ฆ (he then mentioned the hadith). And if there was yet some delay in his life span, he (i.e. the sick person) would be cured from his illness. (Deemed) in as-Saheeh Musnad (641): Hassan (also) refer to Saheeh Adab al-Mufrad (416).

(6) โ€œNo harm will befall you by the will of Allaah. It will be expiation for your sins.โ€

Al-Bukhari (5656) from the hadith of Bin โ€˜Abbaas ุฑุถูŠ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู†ู‡, whenever the Prophet ๏ทบ, went to a patient, he used to say to him (No harmโ€ฆ). i.e. the illness will wipe away the sins, and if the healing (the patient) occurs then two benefits haven taken place. Otherwise the gain of sins being wiped away has occurred. (Explained by al-Haafidh in) al-Fath.
