🇺🇸 The US Army has awarded General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems a $706 million ceiling contract for the production of M829A4 120mm, Armor Piercing, Fin Stabilized, Discarding Sabot with Tracer (APFSDS-T) ammunition.
The FY24 lot was awarded as an option alongside the FY25 lot. The FY26 option is scheduled for award in March 2026. Between those 3 years there is $244 million budgeted, leaving ample room from the contract ceiling to add possible FMS orders on top of the FY26 & 28 US Army buys. https://twitter.com/ColbyBadhwar/status/1749808651819434391#m

If the effect was worth the cost is another matter though.
Best known exploit of the K5's is perhaps the harassment of the Anzio beachhead by two of them.

Three men found guilty of Wagner-linked arson attack in London
Jakeem Rose, 23, Ugnius Asmena, 20, and Nii Mensah, 23, were found guilty at the Old Bailey of aggravated arson with intent to endanger life after the blaze at the unit, which sent aid and internet satellite equipment to Ukraine. The attack took place in March 2024.
The attack was orchestrated by Dylan Earl, 20, and Jake Reeves, 23, who had already admitted aggravated arson on behalf of the Wagner Group.
During the investigation more plots were discovered, like the further arson attacks on a restaurant and wine shop in Mayfair, west London and to kidnap its owner, a multi-millionaire and Russian dissident Evgeny Chichvarkin.

На Торецькому напрямку тотальна спека. Після місяців безперервних штурмів малими групами росіяни вирішили піти ва-банк.
Зранку розвідники 3-го механізованого батальйону помітили два танки з піхотою, що рухались в бік наших позицій. Ще й не аби яких, а «зашитих» настільки, що це вже не сараї, а цілі бункери.
