On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, I recommend reading this New Yorker piece about Rick Rescorla, who on 9/11 was a Morgan Stanely's chief of security at the World Trade Center.

Following the plane imapct, Rescorla directed streams of people down a stairwell in the South Tower, while singing songs to keep them calm. On that day, the 62-years-old Vietnam veteran saved thousands of lives, while ultimately paying with his one, as the tower came down before he was able to evacute.

Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline, a key oil pipeline system of the kingdom, was struck by projectiles on Thursday, US officials familiar with the matter told CNN.

An early analysis showed that pump stations, which are located next to the pipeline itself, were hit, one of the US officials said.

It was not immediately clear who was responsible for the strikes or if sections of the pipeline itself were damaged but one of the officials said it was struck by drones originating from Iraq.

A satellite image taken Friday showed extensive fire damage at one pumping station, and an image of a different pumping station, taken Thursday, showed a small fire sending up plumes of thick, black smoke.
