Once, Bakhmut was an important railway hub and center of salt production, home to 84,000 Ukrainians. Even before the declaration of Ukraine's Independence on July 24, 1990, the first blue-and-yellow flag was raised above the city council building in the Donetsk region.
Today, the streets of the city are covered with the ruins left by the russian occupying army. The defense of Bakhmut lasted nearly 10 months—from August 2022 to May 2023—becoming one of the fiercest battles of the Russo-Ukrainian War. As a result of the bloody fighting, the Russian armed forces suffered massive casualties—around 100,000 killed and wounded, over 80% of whom were members of the Wagner Group.
Unmanned Systems Forces continue the fight—our operators remain hunting for the enemy in the heart of the destroyed city.
