The Lookout (Twitter)

A note on what I put out here:

1. Reports - with or without comments.

2. Analysis - What something means, what impacts it can have, how to change a situation, why actors do or say what they do, etc, etc. This varies from dealing with nitty gritty details to the overall strategic picture.

3. Opinions - What I see as the best solutions, grounded in the world as it is, not how one may want it to be. Sometimes my point of view will vary too. The world is complex.

In the format of Twitter/the other site, it can be difficult to convey what is what, but since this the easiest way too share my thoughts these days, that is a drawback I can live with.

Dealing with uncertainty is the name of the game.

Assessments change as situations develop. That's just how it is too. I knowI will get things wrong, everyone does.

I do, however, hope that many of you still find what I do here useful. That I can help in navigating through a complex, rapidly changing security environment, and still have track of the Russian Navy amid everything else.
