Many of Ukraine's most talented engineers and IT specialists are working at innovative defense startups that need greater funding and can respond rapidly to changes on the battlefield.

I should add that Ukraine's supporters will also gain from Ukrainian defense innovations and the lessons from this war. The innovation cycle is so rapid that Western defense companies are often too slow to respond unless they have their teams on the ground.

The Russian Ground Forces are far from "intact" with almost all the pre-war manpower gone and replaced by mobilized personnel now increasingly forced to go over the top on crutches (https://twitter.com/wartranslated/status/1895774905100079439).

Further the losses to its heavy equipment reserves are catastrophic to say the least with 3.300+ main Battle Tanks, 7.190+ Armoured Fighting vehicles and 1.500+ artillery systems confirmed lost through visual evidence (ukr.warspotting.net/).

Russia also does not produce more equipment then it loses, this is a misconception held by those that do not make the distinction between newly build vehicles and those pulled from storage bases for refurbishment.

These storage bases are increasingly clearing out to replace the ongoing rate of losses with ever worsening equipment from 1950's...

Counterpoint: It is a mistake to assume that cheap drones would have the same relevance in a NATO-Russia war as they do now in Ukraine. They certainly won't in INDOPACOM.

It's far more important for Europe to invest in conventional airpower and strike missiles.
