The State Border Committee of Belarus confirmed the information of @Hajun_BY about the number of Shahed drones in Belarus

In 2024, the drones violated the Belarusian-Ukrainian border about 20 times. This was stated by the official representative of the State Border Committee of Belarus, Anton Bychkouski, on January 28.

“Over the past year, about 350 flights of unmanned aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded on the border with Ukraine. In about 20 cases, violations of the airspace of the Republic of Belarus, violations of the border by these drones were recorded,” he said.

Note that the official didn’t mention to which country the drones belong. After all, since July 2024, Russian drones (mostly of the Shahed type) have been regularly recorded in Belarus’ airspace, which most often fly from Ukraine.

There are limits to what the Western defense industry can produce and delivery timelines are real, often long because everyone is buying, Can't just pick what's available somewhere either because that might not be suitable for our needs.

Lastly and most importantly, one needs enough trained manpower, especially experienced officers and NCOs, to generate real capabilities, not just accumulate equipment.
