Russian air defense officer Igor Pashkov has been sentenced by a Russian court to three years in a penal colony for his "negligence" during a friendly fire incident in the Crimea in October 2023, Kommersant reports.
During the incident, the Russian Mil Mi-8 helicopter, misidentified as a Ukrainian drone, was shot down by a Russian air defense unit with the Tor short-range SAM system.
This is the first known court case of its kind in Russia.

3.🇷🇺137 Airborne Regt POWs captured in Kursk Obl.
Served in the 137th's 2nd Company since OCT 23 during which he was wounded 3 times, last time when captured here. He confirms his life was saved by the UAF.
