Sternenko says the transfer of Air Force technicians to the infantry has created a critical situation that could lead to aircraft being pulled from service because they won't have maintainers and the transfer of air defense crews, including radar technicians, will hinder the detection of missiles and UAVs. 4/

"Since 2024, combat brigades of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been replenished with soldiers transferred from Ukraine’s Air Force units. This has continued into 2025. The latest order from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the transfer of personnel was received by the Air Force units on 11 January. A Ukrainska Pravda source noted that more than 5,000 soldiers were to be transferred to the Ground Forces...

'We started taking people to the Ground Forces in the spring of 2024. But now it has reached critical point – the staffing of our units has dropped tobout 50%. If we comply with the order of 11 January, which we received from the commander-in-chief, the manning of our units will drop to 40%.'

Ukrainska Pravda noted that more than 200 servicemenre to be taken from each of the following Air Force brigades:
138th Air Surveillance Brigade;

"Ukrainian pilots Ivan Smerechanskyi (Smereka) and Vadym Voroshylov (Karaya) also spoke about the importance of engineering and technical personnel on their social media pages. 'To be pragmatic in this situation, if we give away highly qualified engineering and technical specialists, we simply will not be able to find a replacement for them, because civilians with the relevant military speciality are almost impossible to find, and the training path is quite long. As a result, this will lead to problems with the maintenance and servicing of aircraft - as a result, we will have a decrease in the combat capability of aviation brigades,'' Voroshylov wrote.

Quote: 'It takes at least 3 years to train an aircraft technician or any specialist in servicing an engine or an aircraft bombsight (in wartime)... And the engineering and technical staff plays a big role here. They are no less important than pilots! Pilot and engineering and technical staff are...

"Ukraine has stopped production at its coking coal mine in Pokrovsk, which feeds the country's steel industry, because of the proximity of advancing Russian forces, two industry sources told Reuters on Monday.

The facility in the embattled city of Pokrovsk is Ukraine's only mine that produces coking coal needed for the country's once giant steelmaking industry, which has withered since Russia's February 2022 invasion."

The Belarusian military are preparing for protests

On January 13, employees of the internal affairs bodies held exercises with the personnel of the 407th Artillery Group “on the procedure of use of weapons and special means.”

During the training, the military were introduced to “modern weapons, special means and regulations for their use.” The published photos show grenade launchers (RG-6, GM-94), 12-caliber rifles (Vepr-12 “Molot” and Remington 870), as well as traumatic pistols (Grand Power-T12 and Osa).

In addition, the servicemen were shown RGK-60 flash grenades and ammunition for traumatic weapons. These weapons and ammunition were used by security forces to suppress the protests in Belarus in 2020. And despite the use of formally non-lethal ammunition, dozens of people were seriously and fatally injured at that time.

There is no doubt that the training of artillerymen in the use of “special means” used to suppress protests is...
