@Maks_NAFO_FELLA: So then those negotiations will never happen

The ONLY reason that Russia wants Ukraine to agree not to join NATO is so they can invade Ukraine again in the future

Anyone denying that is refusing to recognize Russia’s actions and history in the past 3 decades and before

RT @Kasparov63: As I said in 2014, if you’re worried about the expense of defeating Russia in Ukraine, wait until you see the price of Russia winning. https://twitter.com/ColbyBadhwar/status/1878804201263841773#m

For added clarity, this is basically additional funding that EUCOM would require to deal with the threat from Russia. The DoD already requires substantially more funding across the board to meet all of its global challenges, particularly in INDOPACOM.

$8.6 trillion

That's the cumulative amount of additional gross defense expenditures over actuals that the entire NATO alliance would have spent since the 1990s, had an average of 3% of GDP on defense spending been maintained since then.

Admiral Bauer, Chair of NATO's military committee, highlighted this during an announcement that a new agreement on NATO capability targets will be discussed in June, rather than the autumn, as initially planned.

The capability targets identify what each member's armed forces need to bring to the table. Providing a roadmap for what increased defense spending should actually go towards.
