🇺🇸🇪🇬 The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Egypt, of M1A1 Abrams Tank Refurbishment, Support, and Equipment for the conversion of 555 M1A1s into M1A1SA configuration, for an estimated cost of $4.69 billion.
"Egypt is the only country in the world, other than the United States, that produces the M1A1 Abrams. The Egyptian Refurbishment Program will significantly contribute to the flow of M1A1 components and parts from the United States, creating economies of scale and reducing overall unit price of scarce M1A1 parts for the Department of Defense and other US security partners."
The prime contractor would be @GD_LandSystems. "Refurbishment and upgrade will take place at the Egyptian Tank Plant, Cairo, Egypt."

🇺🇸🇪🇬 The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Egypt of 2183 AGM-114R Hellfire Air-to-Ground Missiles, plus associated equipment and services, for an estimated cost of $630 million.
Hellfire unit cost was ~$100,000 as of FY23 (likely higher now). The US Army ceased procurement in FY24 due to acquisition objectives being met. FMS orders are keeping the production line hot at a minimum sustaining rate of 1200/year.
The prime contractor would be @LockheedMartin.

@cameron19460429 @RTX_News: SDB I is $50,000. I don't know whether there is a huge amount of room for SDB II to come down even with larger order quantities or not, due to the more exquisite capabilities being offered. Raytheon has facilitization to produce substantially more though.

🇺🇸🇪🇬 The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Egypt of 759 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems (APKWS), plus associated equipment and services, for an estimated cost of $30 million. This is an amendment to an existing case that was below the Congressional notification threshold.
These will equip the Egyptian Air Force's Apache attack helicopters.
APKWS unit cost is estimated to be ~$26,000.
The prime contractor would be @BAESystemsInc.
