What is a non-starter is Ukraine doing a ceasefire essentially giving Russia 20% of Ukraine, and not being in NATO

Unless they give up 20% of Ukrainian land that Russia occupied now.

@ukraine_map @RealCynicalFox: There could be an agreement where NATO recognizes the borders but Ukraine cannot invoke Article 5 unless Russia attacks further into Ukraine which is reasonable. Which is what Zelensky is likely referring to when saying internationally recognized borders. There is ways around it

@Art98927465 @RealCynicalFox: Then you will not be having Ukraine agreeing to a ceasefire as much as Trump will try to force it on them unless they are given Security Guarantees meaning NATO defending only the territories they currently hold.

@ukraine_map @Art98927465 @RealCynicalFox: The US feels like they can force countries to surrender to aggressors actively invading their country and bombing them every day and not be guaranteed security from a 3rd invasion. It’s completely ridiculous. There will not be any ceasefire in that scenario.

@WarMonitor3: And then once you start to play that out, you get to Russia will not stop the war if Ukraine is allowed to enter NATO, and then NATO countries will not be prepared to defend Ukraine again if Russia invades again so they won’t accept Ukraine into NATO
