@PrideauxTim: The lead ship is already in production but engineering change orders are always a possibility. The RFI does mention the possibility of design work. Minor changes are always to be expected because you learn things once a ship goes into service, but obviously major revisions will hopefully be avoided. The advantage of going with a mature design like FREMM is that you aren't figuring things out as you go along.
