RT @deaidua: Today, we got new details regarding the 4,000 loitering munitions that Germany pledged to Ukraine several months ago. Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius has now confirmed to BILD that the pledged drones are HX-2 Karma, which will be provided by Helsing.
According to Helsing, the drone can also operate under GNSS-denied conditions and is “swarm capable” thanks to the Altra Recce-Strike software. This means that several HX-2 Karma can be operated simultaneously. Integrated AI software enables the autonomous identification and engagement of targets.
Helsing states that the HX-2 Karma has a range of 100 kilometres and is precise to within 50 cm, at a price significantly below that of other loitering ammunition such as Switchblade 600 or Zala Lancet. Specs which, incidentally, are doubted in some industry circles.
According to BILD, the first delivery of hundreds of units will take place in December and will then be made on a regular basis.

❗🇺🇲🇩🇪 @MBDADeutschland has broken ground on the expansion of their facility in Schrobenhausen, Bavaria, which will produce the 1000 PAC-2 GEM-T missiles that are on contract from NATO.
It will also produce PARM anti-tank mines and Enforcer anti-tank missiles.

Neptune is not a very good missile, but hopefully they have been able to meaningfully improve it. @PrideauxTim: The lead ship is already in production but engineering change orders are always a possibility. The RFI does mention the possibility of design work. Minor changes are always to be expected because you learn things once a ship goes into service, but obviously major revisions will hopefully be avoided. The advantage of going with a mature design like FREMM is that you aren't figuring things out as you go along.
