According to @Hajun_BY, at least 49 Russian kamikaze drones of the Shahed type flew into Belarus in October. It happened on October 3, 7, 11, 15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 20, 21, 21, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31.
On October 3, one of the Shahed drones fell and exploded in Kalinkavichy, and on October 20, a Shahed drone was shot down by the Air Defense Forces in Yelsk district.
Of the 49 UAVs recorded:
• 33 returned to Ukraine;
• 14 disappeared;
• 1 fell;
• 1 was shot down.
Currently, there is no reason to believe that the flights of Russian UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type to Belarus will stop in the near future.

A group of the Belarusian Armed Forces on the border with Ukraine – de-escalation of the situation
According to our information, during the month, a number of units of the Belarusian Armed Forces were withdrawn from the border with Ukraine to the permanent deployment points. For example, the 355th Separate Tank Battalion and the 339th Separate Mechanized Battalion of the 120th Brigade were withdrawn from the border area, while two Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force were withdrawn from Babruisk airfield to Lida.
The above-mentioned units were replaced by other units in Yelsk, but it’s unknown which ones.
In general, we can state that the situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is gradually returning to the status quo, which existed until August 2024. 1-2 battalions of the Special Forces, which guard Russian military facilities, stay in Homiel region.

The number of the Russian Armed Forces in Belarus didn’t change in October
The Russian Armed Forces are still stationed in the following locations in Belarus:
• Baranavichy, Mazyr (Bokau) and Ziabrauka airfields – up to 530 people;
• Baranavichy radar station and the 43rd Vileika communication center – up to 1450 people;
• the 484th Military Investigation Department and the 313th Military Prosecutor’s Office of the garrison – up to 20 people.
Currently, Belarusian Hajun estimates the number of the Russian military stationed in Belarus at ~2000.

MiG-31K for 2 days and growth of activity of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Belarus
In October, the aviation activity of the Russian Aerospace Forces increased compared to September. During the month, Russian aviation arrived at the following Belarusian airfields and airports:
• Machulishchy airfield – 1 Tu-154, 1 Tu-214 and 1 An-124;
• Baranavichy airfield – 1 An-12;
• Minsk National Airport – 1 An-148 (Russian FSB) and 2 Tu-154M;
• Homiel airport – 1 IL-76.
The aviation group of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which is permanently stationed in Belarus, currently consists of only 4 Su-30SM fighters, which are based at Baranavichy airfield.
Also, in October, 2 MiG-31K fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived in Belarus. The first one arrived at Machulishchy airfield on October 9, and the second one arrived on October 10. Both left Belarus on the same day (10.10).
Before that, there were no MiG-31K aircraft in Belarus for...

• On November 5-8, the temporary relocation of helicopters of the 50th Combined Air Base of the Belarusian Air Force from Machulishchy airfield to the reserve airfields of Luninets and Barautsy was recorded.
• During the week, no flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces were recorded in the airspace of Belarus.

• On November 9, more than 1500 conscripts of the Internal Troops, drafted for compulsory service during the fall conscription, took the military oath.
• By the end of 2026, the State Border Committee plans to build two new border outposts: Karpauka (Loyeu district) and Selishcha (Stolin district).
• The 11th Mechanized Brigade received a batch of Chinese Chimera drones.
