@mack_a_d00: I was with 2/4, and we just sent my company for that deployment. It was right after a MEU deployment so it was shorter than normal.

@m1spike @JackRyanlives: Our main national interest in Afghanistan was to prevent it from becoming a threat to our national security again. But we decided to add on other objectives that weren't vital or achievable.

@ShuffleOSINT @KarlWaelder: Military leaders asked for much more resources, but still pursued a strategy that would not defeat the Taliban or make Afghanistan sustainable without an enduring US military presence and significant financial aid. The global situation in 2021 was not the same as 2001.
