An example of Ukraine's continuing need for greater quantities of modern armored vehicles. The video (I cropped the end) shows Russian RPG, mortar, and FPV strikes on a Ukrainian BTR-70 in Hrodivka, a key town on the Pokrovsk front. BTR-70 are outdated vehicles with weak armor. If this had been a Bradley or another modern NATO-produced IFV, it is much more likely they could have driven out of the kill zone after the first strike, returned fire (25mm will penetrate buildings much better), and suffered fewer and less severe casualties. The Ukrainian military continues to suffer unnecessary casualties every day because they don't have enough modern IFVs and APCs.

@Andrzej94491984 @nexta_tv: The US has a total of 13,350 active JASSM, JASSM-ER, Tomahawk, ATACMS, and SLAM-ER missiles with conventional warheads. They have 528 AGM-86B Nuclear Cruise Missiles launched by B-52Hs. They likely have over 100 PRSM HIMARS-launched missiles and over 200 LRASM anti-ship cruise missiles. They may also have some hypersonic, although a very low number.

In terms of nuclear missiles, US has 528 AGM-86B cruise missiles, and 400 Minuteman 3 ICBMs in Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota. And up to 280 Trident 2 Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles on up to 20 Submarines ready to launch anytime. US also may have up to 145 to 260 additional Trident 2 Nuclear Missiles in reserve. This does not include the nuclear gravity bombs dropped from B-2s, F-16s, and other aircraft that US, has like B-61 and B-83s bombs.

In total US has 13,350 conventional non-nuclear cruise missiles and ATACMS, ~300 PRSM, LRASM, and other missiles, 528 Nuclear AGM-86B Cruise Missiles, 400 Minuteman 3 ICBMs, and 280 to 540 Trident 2 Nuclear Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles. That brings the total active long-range missiles US has to over 15,100.

This count does not include Tomahawks and other long-range missiles in reserve; although the number of Tomahawks in reserve could be in the hundreds or thousands, it is not close to 15,000 or even 10,000. US is more than able to give Ukraine a thousand Tomahawks, JASSM, and ATACMS, which is only 7% of all their active non-nuclear long-range missiles.

@JulianRoepcke: The soldiers will also have worse situational awareness in a BTR-70 than a Bradley. Bradleys can sustain far more strikes from FPVs, RPGs, and other anti-tank munitions, and it is easier for the infantry to dismount them under fire. Soldiers will, of course, make mistakes, but better vehicles will make those mistakes less costly.

@akihheikkinen: They are getting more Bradleys. I don't know the exact timeline, and obviously it will take time to train the crews.

@Maks_NAFO_FELLA: US thinks that if they allow Ukraine to strike Russia with US cruise missiles then US is at war with Russia, but if Russia strikes Ukraine with Iranian, North Korean missiles then those countries are not at war with Ukraine and Ukraine still isn’t allowed to strike Russia. Absurd
