🇨🇺🇷🇺🇺🇸 | A detachment of Russian Navy warships will visit Cuba between June 12 and 17, 2024, Cuba's Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces officially informed.
The detachment is set to consist of the Yasen-class nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine "K-561 Kazan", Admiral Gorshkov-class frigate "Admiral Gorshkov", Project 23130 fleet oil tanker "Akademik Pashin" and Project R-5757 rescue tug "Nikolay Chiker".
All four warships belong to Russia's Northern Fleet.
In its statement, Cuba's Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces underscored that none of the four Russian warships are able to carry nuclear weapons, hence "their stopover in our country does not represent a threat to the region."

However, Mirage 2000-5 will be able to launch SCALP-EG cruise missiles. The French AASM <70km Glide Bombs that Ukraine uses probably could be configured onto it.
It could launch anti-ship missiles however those are too short range to reach Russian ships in the Black Sea.
The Mirage 2000-5 would be able to intercept Russian Cruise Missiles and Shahed Drones.
The Mirage 2000-5 fighter jet’s longest range air-to-air missile MICA is 60km to 80km in maximum range while its radar is 110km to 140km in maximum range. Its short range air-to-air missile Matra Magic 2 has a range of up to 20km and costs $40,000 per missile.
Overall, it will help with air defense, launching glide bombs, and launching SCALP-EG, however the F-16s if upgraded with better radars and given good weaponry are significantly better than the Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets
