"we've lost about 40 kilometers from Bakhmut back to the west." Unless I'm missing something, it looks like the extent of Russia's advance since August in the Bakhmut area is about 6-7km.

@BretDevereaux: Maybe, but it comes across as though he's talking about the extent of the advance.

@jackryan212: He’s saying “We can’t play politics with this.” When he did for months causing thousands of Ukrainians to die. Actions over words, and his actions are he never vote yes on any Ukraine related aid bill, he delayed Ukraine aid for many months, and put a Ukraine bill up last second.

Videos of night FPV strikes on a Russian T-90S tank with a TMT-K mine-roller, which was later destroyed by a drone-dropped grenade, and strike on a BMP-3 by Ukraine’s 33rd Mechanized and 116th TDF Brigades in Pobeda, Donetsk Oblast.

@ukraine_map @200__zoka @NOELreports: It’s not better than the Senate Bill, it is the exact same thing with a loan, that may or may not be forgiven by however the President is in 2026. The ATACMS provision, although nice does not do anything. It says the US President must send ATACMS, that could mean 1 missile, but he doesn’t have to if it posses a risk to US National Security, aka lowering US military readiness. But of course, more ATACMS will be sent anyway regardless of if that is in the bill so it has no effect. The previous ATACMS House proposal required US to procure 300km unitary ATACMS for Ukraine, meaning US had to buy somewhere around 40-70 ATACMS missiles for Ukraine.
The bigger problem is that this is not enough aid for Ukraine to win the war, and they will need significantly more to make a serious difference meaning more bills would need to be passed and making those loans are just adding to the problem because Ukraine will not be able to afford or even take the risk of paying off +$100 billion in loans. While at the same time European countries are giving larger percentages of their military GDP to Ukraine and US is giving out loans.
