I did know a number or RO/ROs were built in Nikolayev in the late Soviet period, but didn't know one of them ended up in Military Sealift Command.
LCPC Roy M Wheat first name was Vladimir Vaslyayev, one of 4 Kapitan Smirnov class built by the Chernomorskiy Shipyard
-----------
@TheSubHunter1:
USNS LCPL Roy M. Wheat
She is one of the USAs MSC ships and was actually built in the Soviet Union !
She was originally built for the Black Sea shipping company in 1987 but in 1997 was purchased and converted by the United States for the pre positioning fleet

Interestingly for a merchant ship, the main engines for the Kapitan Smirnov class was 2 x M25 gas turbines, for a total of 50 000 hp, giving them a top speed of 25-26 knots.

Here's what this aircraft looked like almost ten years ago in Slovak service. The distinctive paint job can be easily seen.
