RT @DefMon3: Bakhmut
RuAF made some advances NW of the city towards the O0506 road and subsequently getting it in line of sight and under small arms fire control. It is possible they have all the approaches in to Bakhmut in visual range at this point. It's a matter of +/- 200m. https://twitter.com/DefMon3/status/1648961876804378624/photo/1

RT @KyleJGlen: The Russian MoD call this an "abnormal descent of aviation ammunition" in Belgorod, I'd call if accidentally bombing your own city. https://twitter.com/KyleJGlen/status/1649159182719889411/photo/1

Col. Pavlo "Palisa said ammunition shortages have repeatedly forced his troops inside Bakhmut to withdraw from their positions. 'We don’t have enough rounds to engage them,' he said, 'and I recognize we are paying with the lives of our soldiers.'”

“Our enemy is using jamming really successfully...If we don’t have eyes in the air we can’t engage the enemy by artillery fire. Why it’s important is because we don’t have many artillery rounds. So our artillery fire must be precise.”

"When Palisa arrived at his post in mid-January, the assessments he heard from the officers around him echoed Washington’s pessimism. 'Those guys said ‘I don’t know, maybe 2 or 3 weeks.’ But months later and we’re still here...Palisa said, expressing confidence in the mission."
