Our PM emphasized strengthening our relationship with Germany as an important reason for choosing Leopard over the K2. He informed Scholz on the decision earlier today.
That Finland, Sweden and Denmark operates Leopard 2 also influenced the outcome.

@Getford1 No, this will replace the 2A4s of which we originally bought 52 of from the Netherlands. Not all of the 2A4s are currently in operational service.
