RT @ErrantStrategry: My point is that we must keep cheering on UKR to resist, but we must begin to accept that even though some RF is twisted into knots, they still have a lot of force available and time is likely on their side if they are will to endure the punishing sanctions and casualties. 6/6

RT @ulrichspeck: Many people are thinking about potential compromises leading to peace in Ukraine. Yet to understand what's at stake for Putin one must keep in mind that this war didn't start in 2022, it started in 2014. For Putin, destroying Ukraine's independence has become an obsession.

RT @ulrichspeck: Putin has often said, and even written, that Ukraine is not a separate nation, and should not exist as a sovereign state. It is this fundamental denial that has led Putin to wage this totally senseless war that he cannot win.

RT @ulrichspeck: And that leads us to the problem of making peace: either Ukraine has the right to exist as a nation and a sovereign state, or it hasn't. Sovereignty is indivisible. Putin denies it, Ukraine defends it.

RT @ulrichspeck: Normally wars take place between states are about conflicts they have between them. Yet this is a war about the existence of one state, which is denied by the aggressor. That's why the usual concepts of peacemaking -- finding a compromise -- do not a apply.

RT @MarkHertling: On 2/24 I posted this thread predicting what might happen in this war.
I was wrong…Russia’s Army and leadership is even worst than I predicted, and Ukraine’s is significantly better than I anticipated.
Lots of close fighting to come, but Ukraine will prevail. Bless them all

That means 70-75% of Russia's total battalion tactical groups is committed plus Rosgvardia, army/division-level assets, and possibly contract reservists. To mass this force, the Russian military is stretched thin leaving it vulnerable if another crisis occurs.

The Pentagon now assesses that nearly 100 percent of the Russian combat power prestaged at the Ukrainian border are now committed to the fight, a senior U.S. defense official says.

Presumably, this is mostly talking about air, ground, and sea-launched cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Not sure if this refers to air-launched anti-radar missiles, but I would assume not. Either way, that is a large number given Russia's Kalibr missile production issues.
