What happens is something gets put on Telegram or Twitter, someone else labels what they think it is and then it's circle reported without question. We see this again and again.

My issue with the NYT quote isn't the topic itself.
The nuclear dimension has always been there, Russia is possibly up to something with their rethoric, and Western leaders do take the threat of escalation seriously.
The probability of escalation may be low, but it isn't 0.

If the quote in question had included some context, e.g a reference to Grom, I would have less of an issue with it.
To deter Russia, facts must be made public.
To inform the public, a calm debate is needed.

@antiwatnic @NOELreports @naalsio26 @Rebel44CZ UAF and RuAF both operate BMP-1s which you see here, but they are more frequent in the UAF at least until now. Still there is other film of these losses from other angles. By the way it is not Kreminna as the UAF soldier is wearing a yellow armband and its from early September.
