Our several sources report that the real cause of the malfunction of bank cards throughout Belarus is literally a flood in the server room of the Bank Processing Center (BPC).

It’s known that the building on Miasnikova street, where the BPC servers are located, was flooded at about 6:00. Presumably, a pipeline burst caused partial deenergization of the building and shutdown of air conditioning.

The overheated servers did not work long and after a while, at around 8:00, they completely shut down.
In addition, there’s an official information on 115.bel that today there was an emergency shutdown of the hot water supply in the building No. 35 on Miasnikova street.
