RT @deaidua: Major General Maik Keller, Deputy Commander of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine, said in an interview with the FAZ that a few months ago Russia managed to severely damage a MIM-104 Patriot radar unit in #Ukraine.
It was brought back to Germany, where the industry determined that it’s a total loss which can't be repaired. Since it would take a few years to replace it with a newly bought and build radar, experts from the German Luftwaffe tried to repair it themselves and actually managed to accomplish it by spending 16 hours a day from Monday to Saturday.
In July, the radar unit was delivered back to Ukraine and is already operational. Just last week, the first Russian target was intercepted by utilizing this very radar unit.

RT @deaidua: Let me bring you up to date on German funding for procurements through the PURL programme to assist #Ukraine. All German communications from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs refer to co-financing, which would mean that Germany is not financing the full package valued at $500 million.
All Ukrainian communications and NATO communications refer to Germany financing an entire $500 million package. Since there is a big difference between co-financing and fully financing, I asked NATO and the German MoD which version is true. NATO doubled down on their information, while the German MoD hasn't responded yet.
It currently looks like Germany is funding a full $500 million package alone, but I currently don't have confirmation from both sides.

RT @deaidua: A few updates on the deliveries of 155mm shells to Ukraine and the establishment of a 155mm production factory in #Ukraine by Rheinmetall thanks to an DW interview with Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger.
👉 The entire 2025 production output (25,000 155mm shells) of the newly opened production facility in Unterlüß will be delivered to Ukraine.
👉 He thinks they will be able to deliver 100,000 155mm shells from the Unterlüß factory to Ukraine in 2026 with further growth in the later years.
👉 The delays in the construction of the 155mm factory in Ukraine are even more serious than previously thought (I reported on this at the beginning of August).
👉 According to earlier statements by Papperger (no exact details mentioned), the plan was to start production in 2026. Now, in the interview with DW, he states that they do not even have a concept for the construction of the complete facility yet and that the ammunition factory is not...

RT @deaidua: The Russian military managed to destroy another decoy of an IRIS-T SLM launcher somewhere “deep behind enemy lines” in #Ukraine. There are various indicators proving that this is only a decoy. Just to mention two:
1) After the strike — which is not even shown as it would be another proof of this being a decoy — you can clearly see that the cabin is made of some metal frame and plywood.
2) Also very visible after the strike is a tow hook at the very front which is used to tow the decoy into place (hence the truck shown at 00:20).
PS: Even if it would be a real launcher, it's not worth $50 million like claimed by the Russian propaganda machine.

RT @ukraine_frontup: ⚔️ Zelensky on Pokrovsk:
“The situation is difficult, but there are no significant changes. Our defenders are gradually destroying the occupiers — the priority is to preserve our personnel.”
🇷🇺 Around 170,000 Russian troops are concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector. Zelensky emphasized there is no encirclement, and Ukrainian commanders “perfectly understand that encirclement must not be allowed.”
💬 SBU head Malyuk:
“Our defenders are working mega-effectively. The enemy has been claiming for over a year they’ll ‘take Pokrovsk any day now’ — in reality, they’ve advanced only 7 km and lost tens of thousands.”
Pokrovsk remains one of the fiercest battles — a fight where Russia bleeds men, and Ukraine preserves strength.

RT @deaidua: A small but important update on the subject of Lynx IFVs and #Ukraine. Rheinmetall CEO Papperger announced in an interview with @loyalmagazin (published yesterday) that funding for production in Ukraine is still missing, and a corresponding contract has not yet been signed.
Building a factory in Ukraine would only make sense if at least 200 to 300 vehicles were to be built there. According to Papperger, Rheinmetall is currently building five Lynx IFVs in Germany for Ukraine – these are most likely still test vehicles (as it was originally announced to supply ten of them to Ukraine) – but that's it.
Upon enquiry, I was told that the interview was conducted two weeks ago. So around the same time when many accounts here were widely announcing that Ukraine had chosen the Lynx. Just to put things into perspective regarding the actual and current status of the project.
Seems like things are slowly moving — agreement on...

RT @deaidua: This morning, the Bundestag’s Budget Committee approved an additional €3 billion for Germany’s military #Ukraine assistance for 2026, bringing the total to €11.5 billion. According to media reports, the additional funding is to be spent on artillery, drones and armoured vehicles.
As every year, however, part of the total funding will also be spent on other means, like replacing equipment for the German Bundeswehr which was given to Ukraine from Bundeswehr stocks at an earlier time.
In addition to an already high sum (certainly a high three-digit million sum at least), a small portion of the €3 billion will therefore also be invested in the re-purchase of two MIM-104 Patriot fire units, which Germany recently delivered to Ukraine.
The final approval of the entire 2026 federal budget is planned for the end of November. Afterwards, the Bundesrat must also give its approval, but I consider both steps to be a mere formality, which is why I am already reporting on this now.
