RT @deaidua: Well, now it's official. The new German government just deleted their official list of military aid provided to #Ukraine which it had maintained since mid-2022. The English version is still online, but I assume it will also be deleted in a few minutes.
As recently as Monday, a spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defence announced that the government would continue to announce what it supplies to Ukraine. However, details such as quantities will no longer be announced. Well...
I would like to take this opportunity once again to refer to my website, which is more comprehensive than the government website anyway 👇

RT @deaidua: More than two weeks ago, a larger column of at least 18 Cheetah SPAAGs without insignia was spotted by one of my followers (@SpassovVladimir) in Eastern Germany. It can be assumed that the train was travelling eastwards to #Ukraine.
Up to 60 Cheetah SPAAGs (Dutch version of the Gepard SPAAG) were bought back from Jordan by the US (up to 45) and Germany (15). However, the at least 18 SPAAGs visible in the images exceed the remaining pledges made by Germany, so in my opinion this should either be a mixed delivery (Germany and the US) or a pure US delivery.
OPSEC disclaimer: I waited more than two full weeks before publishing the images to preserve OPSEC. This is more than enough time to bring the equipment to Ukraine, distribute it to the units and for them to be already using the equipment.
I also want to point out, that Gepard SPAAGs and Cheetah SPAAGs are being used far away from the front line to defend cities, military...

RT @deaidua: BREAKING: Chancellor Merz has just announced that Germany will fund a significant portion of the Starlink coverage in #Ukraine, and the Ministers of Defence of both countries will today sign a Memorandum of Understanding (!) with the goal to procure far-reaching Ukrainian-made weapons systems for the defence of Ukraine.

RT @deaidua: I'm back home and have now had some time to analyse today's announcements regarding military assistance for #Ukraine and give my assessment. I have five points I want to talk (in detail) about.
1) IRIS-T
Firstly, I would like to comment on IRIS-T (SLM) and start with a disclaimer. The Ukrainian-German translation provided by the German MoD spoke of spare parts for IRIS-T, whereas none of the articles I read spoke of this, but referred to deliveries of complete fire units. I will therefore simply give an assessment of both to be on the safe side.
According to the Ukrainian President, deliveries are secured for the next three years. That would be 2027 or 2028 (depending on whether the current year is included).
In the case of the fire units, this would not really be a surprise. At present, Germany has delivered 6 fire units to Ukraine and has pledged to deliver another 14 (!). Of the 14 pledged, 4 are to be delivered this year...

RT @deaidua: #Ukraine recently received their 7th IRIS-T SLM fire unit from Germany! The 540th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade announced on their Facebook page, that they recently received their first IRIS-T SLM fire unit and destroyed seven Russian cruise missiles during their first operation.
Unless the fire unit was transferred from another unit (which is highly unlikely) this is a confirmation of the delivery of the 7th IRIS-T SLM fire unit. Another 13 of them are still pledged, of which 3 are planned to be delivered this year in addition to the one already delivered.

RT @deaidua: According to AXIOS, negotiations between the German and US government regarding the purchase of two MIM-104 Patriot fire units and hundreds of missiles from US stocks for #Ukraine are ongoing.
However, US President Trump suggested to the German Chancellor Merz that Germany delivers another MIM-104 Patriot fire unit from Bundeswehr stocks to Ukraine, with European allies and the US splitting the costs for that.
While this would of course somewhat work in terms of the improvement of Ukrainian capabilities in the short term, this would firstly massively hurt the Bundeswehr and tear a huge hole in the German defence capabilities which are needed not only for territorial defence but also for NATO missions in Poland and elsewhere (after all the German government has already donated three fire units — meaning 25% of all fire units pre-2022 in service with the Bundeswehr — to Ukraine).
Secondly, this would also leave another problem...

RT @deaidua: So it seems like the exact details will be worked out during today's visit by the German Minister of Defence Pistorius to his US colleague, but it's already safe to say that Germany will finance Patriot missiles, likely at least one Patriot fire unit for #Ukraine, or has/will agree to hand over another one (would be the fourth) from Bundeswehr stocks.
According to a spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defence, we can expect a statement from the German Minister of Defence on the matter at around 9:45 pm, 10 pm UTC+2 (in ~4 hours). I will of course report on this in detail.

RT @deaidua: HENSOLDT has been contracted to deliver an undisclosed number of TRML-4D air surveillance radars and SPEXER 2000 3D MkIII short-range radars worth more than €340 million to #Ukraine. Although not officially confirmed, it's very likely that Germany is paying the bills.

RT @deaidua: Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany (@Makeiev) reportedly told Ukrainian journalists today that the eighth German-financed IRIS-T SLM fire unit is on its way to #Ukraine. I was not yet able to independently confirm this statement.
If he actually made this statement, this would mean that two of the four IRIS-T SLM fire units pledged for this year would have been delivered to Ukraine by the end of July, as the first one was delivered at the end of May 2025 or beginning of June 2025 to the 540th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade (Image).
