RT @WritingFates: This 🇷🇺 pontoon bridge across the Seym spanned roughly 81m of water and comprised twelve PMP or PMP-M system river link pontoons.
All links are likely Damaged to one degree or another, with the river current pulling the bridge from its moorings and beneath the water. https://twitter.com/kromark/status/1827779715869835327#m

🇺🇸🇪🇺 Despite modest increases in European defense spending, a fundamental lack of interest in investing in key capabilities remains. European states can't buy European when no European made products are even on offer.
TAURUS production shut down
Storm Shadow production shut down
SCALP-EG production on life support
If Germany, the UK & France don't even buy their own domestically produced systems in meaningful quantities, why would anyone else?
JASSM is a better capability at a better price.
Germany under Chancellor Scholz is rejecting the entire category of long range strike weapons.
France is looking at sinking billions into developing a domestic MLRS and then procuring perhaps a fee dozen units.
These are not serious procurement policies. https://twitter.com/intstrategist/status/1833166202832597494#m

12. 🇷🇺810th Naval Infantry Bde POWs captured in Kursk Oblast.
His company of 70-80 men were sent from Ocheretyne (Pokrovsk front) without vehicles [AFVs]. They arrived to Kauchuk on 11th August and were captured nearby on 14th August.
On the 14th they moved into a treeline to entrench. They entered in small groups, He was on the edge of the line to cover and to prevent any UAF breakthrough. When shooting started half of his group fled. He started to help a WIA comrade. The command told him by radio to wait for an evac. Then UAF came from the rear. He therefore ran forward, but fell into a UAF trap and surrendered without shooting. He does not know the fate of the others.
Note to self: I thought initially he could be the soldier on the right in tweet 6 but the date of capture is different.
The other soldier in black in this film is from the 488th Motor Rifle Regiment and will be covered in a separate thread.

There's a school of thought that even in retirement, generals shouldn't be endorsing a politician as they did today (and have before).

RT @FRHoffmann1: Colby's assessment is spot on.
In particular Germany's failure to procure the Taurus KEPD-350 after the war started, and its lack of effort to quickly develop and acquire a more modern German/European alternative, borders on criminal negligence.
Deeply, deeply infuriating. https://twitter.com/ColbyBadhwar/status/1833193859595055148#m
