@proprietorunion @RealJakeBroe: If they did some research and used some thought, they could’ve easily figured out it was Russia asking them to report Russian propaganda.

Even let’s say they did know the person contacting them was from Russia, which they did. It doesn’t take much thought to figure out that no one would be paying them millions of dollars to influence Russian narratives other than the Russian Government or Media, Russian State Media influence is well known in the US. They are playing dumb, they were fully aware of what and who they were being paid by.

Furthermore, the fact that influence translated into reporting Russian propaganda shows they knew who they were being influenced by, Russia isn’t going to pay anyone millions of dollars without knowing for a fact that they would be reporting Russian propaganda. It’s a bad excuse, they were...
