From a few days ago, Deep State says many of the units that Russian moved were piecemeal deployments of battalions taken from brigades or separate units, such as VDV spetsnaz, Akhmat, Wagner, and Veteran units. Russia also sent forces from Vovchansk and the Kharkiv area. 238/

What the fall of Pokrovsk could mean for Ukraine
Ukraine’s incursion into Kursk Oblast fails to thwart Russia’s advancement towards Pokrovsk. The loss of this key city could have far-reaching consequences for the entire Ukrainian front in Donbas

@space_stations @jetcitystar: They would not be of use in Ukraine because they are facing a huge amount of Russian GBAD with no way to suppress it. Other militaries aren't necessarily facing that same problem set. There is no shortage of people who believe that attack helicopters are completely irrelevant on the 21st century battlefield though. Poland's Apache procurement has faced a lot of criticism. I don't necessarily subscribe to that view, but it is not debatable that Apaches would be a worthwhile investment for Ukraine. They would be promptly shot down.

@Eriq49xx @PaulConRO: Yes. The United States has not had a coherent foreign policy strategy since the Bush Admin (a controversial strategy, but a strategy nonetheless). Obama, Trump, and Biden Admins have all been directionless.
