I don't think an agreement is likely in the short-term. The terms of a negotiated settlement will be decided based on the military situation, and I think Moscow believes it can achieve more success in the JFO to strengthen its negotiating position vis-à-vis Kyiv.

This war was an attempt to force a change to Ukraine’s political orientation. There are a number of secondary objectives but none justify the heavy costs of this invasion. Russia will likely extract some concessions from Kyiv, but it won’t achieve its initial maximalist goals.
