252. Central Vovchansk, late June.
190m west of tweet 251 a Russian is down, smouldering a bit after a 57th Motorised Brigade FPV strike at 50.295446, 36.932016.
Located by the glimpse of ruined School No.1 in the background. We will see how it got ruined in the next tweet.
Film released 05 July.
Good intro to the soundtrack BTW.

RT @deaidua: Norway is increasing its contribution to the German IAAD initiative and, in cooperation with Germany, will deliver an IRIS-T SLM fire unit to Ukraine this autumn! Additional funds totalling NOK 1 billion will be made available for this purpose.
Thank you, Norway! However, I would like to point out that this is not an additional commitment to Ukraine, as Germany would have supplied the IRIS-T SLM fire unit anyway.
The only positive effect for Germany is that it now has several dozens of million euros more for new procurements, since it doesn't have to finance the full fire unit on its own.

RT @FRHoffmann1: I saw a few takes today on why deploying INF-range missiles to Europe/Germany might strategically backfire, and that the timing of the decision was overhasty.
I want to present the counter-narrative: this move is strategically sound and the timing is appropriate. 1/8

@JamesRaxz @hartpunkt: There are trade offs with either option. It depends on what your priorities are. For the US Army it was strategic mobility. Trailers are easier to transport by air.

@ThomasBuchhol20Replying to @ZizkaFella: I don't think the US Army has any operational PATRIOT units that have not been upgraded to a PAC-3 config.

@ZizkaFella A new PATRIOT Fire Unit is more expensive. A depreciated one from inventory is not. Also you can provide a lot more equipment when it's being valued correctly pursuant to the law & regulations, which most of the Drawdowns have not been.

@MassimoRonzullo: 1. Who said the first battery that the US Army drewdown was worth $1 billion?
2. The services were all overvaluing their equipment. After 2 audits, they should now be valued correctly.

@iserozhko @vokinburt_avia: Battery is the organizational term the US Army uses for a Fire Unit. The price depends on the configuration you order. You can have a PATRIOT FU with just 1 or 2 launchers or 8 launchers; it could have just 1 radar or 3. The order might include no missiles or a lot of missiles.

@StijnOerde @Dobo46436320 @JScoreForever @NOELreports: If the US paid Raytheon to max out production back in the spring of 2022 then they would probably be at or close to 12/year by now.

@bayraktar_1love: A new PATRIOT Fire Unit can be a little as $300 million, so a depreciated one will be a fraction of that.
