According to our information, the Vitsiaz special forces detachment was formed on the basis of the 7th Separate Special Militia Brigade (military unit 5524, Vitsiebsk and other settlements of the region).
The detachment became the 13th such unit in the Internal Troops. We note that Vitsiebsk region was the last one that didn’t have its own special forces detachment.
One can expect that the official “presentation” of the detachment will take place in the near future. The event may be timed, for example, to May 9 (Victory Day in Belarus) or July 3 (official Independence Day in Belarus).
Since special forces detachments have been formed in all units of the Internal Troops, one can expect that the process of forming new ones (in the current format) will be suspended. And all efforts will be focused on improving the combat potential of the already formed detachments.
