Belarusian Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin praised Iran’s “wise and prudent” attack on Israel on the night of April 13-14.
He said this at the Belarus-Iran meeting during the conference of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Astana, Kazakhstan. Khrenin also said that Belarus is ready to strengthen relations with Iran in various fields despite the Western sanctions.

Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Mohammad Ashtiani stressed the high potential of Iran and Belarus in the military and defense sectors, expressing Tehran’s readiness for closer cooperation with Minsk.

According to the Belarusian MoD, the parties “exchanged views on current issues of the international agenda and discussed the current state of cooperation in the military sphere.” They also “expressed mutual interest in further development and deepening of relations between the Defense Ministries of Belarus and Iran.”
