Combat readiness inspection of the 120th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade: what’s known at the moment?

On March 21, the Belarusian MoD reported that as part of the combat readiness inspection, “some units of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces” were brought to readiness to perform the assigned tasks. It was noted that the personnel were to go to the assigned areas to perform combat duty tasks on air defense. It wasn’t specified which units were involved.

On the same day, footage of Buk SAM systems being loaded onto tractor units was published. Only the 120th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of the Belarusian Armed Forces has such systems.

The Belarusian Air Force conducted a training on relocating aircraft to reserve airfields. According to Belarusian Hajun, the 61st fighter air base and the 116th assault air base participated in the training today.

Pilots from Baranavichy practiced the redeployment of aircraft to Minsk National Airport, and pilots from Lida – to Babruisk military airfield.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, the purpose of this is to “avoid enemy strikes on aircraft.” But at the end of the training, the aircraft returned to the places of permanent deployment (therefore, they won’t avoid the strikes). This is just a training. Such trainings are held regularly.
