Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov said that Belarus and Russia had agreed to create unified history textbooks for schools and universities.

“This topic is very important, because there are still differences in the understanding of very important events in the history of the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire. And now we have agreed that we will consider these events from a unified point of view,” he said.

@iSANS_CEE notes that currently it’s not clear how it will be realized, but textbooks will be brought to a single semantic content. According to the experts, the textbooks will have a unified interpretation of Belarusian national heroes and events from the Kremlin’s position. “Some of Belarusian national figures will be definitely identified as Poles, and some – as Russians,” they believe.

In addition, there is no doubt that these textbooks will follow the narrative that Belarusians and Russians are “brothers with a common history and common spiritual values.”

One of the streets in Rivne, Ukraine, was named in honor of Belarusian war volunteer Miraslau Lazouski, who was killed last year in the battle near Bakhmut, @nashaniva reports.

The Kalinouski Regiment wrote a petition on this to the Rivne administration, but didn’t expect that the decision would be made so soon.

Miraslau Lazouski was one of the founders of the Belarusian paramilitary patriotic organization Bely Lehiyon, he was 49 years old.
