Satellite imagery from September 29, 2023, of the Berdyansk Air Base in southeastern Ukraine show around 20 Russian military helicopters deployed there at that time.

The first video from the ground from the Russian helicopter base at the Berdyansk Airport in southeastern Ukraine, taken shortly after Ukrainian strikes last night.

We can see silhouettes of two Russian Mil Mi-8 helicopters and at least three separate fires in the distance. It appears that the fire on the right is actually a burning helicopter. That might be the case with other sources of fire too. Also secondaries seen in the distance.

The Special Operations Forces of Ukraine say those are the results of latest Ukrainian strikes on Russian helicopter bases near Luhansk and Berdyansk:

- Destruction of nine Russian helicopters of various types;

- Destruction of "special equipment" (EW, radar systems?) located at the airfields;

- Destruction of an anti-aircraft missile launcher (unspecified);

- The hit on an ammunition depot;

- Damage to the runways.

The whole operation was reportedly codenamed "DRAGONFLY."

Fighter-bomber channel affiliated with the Russian Air Force says last night's Ukrainian strikes on Russian helicopter bases in Luhansk and Berdyansk were "one of the most serious, if not the most serious" during the whole war. Personnel and equipment losses noted.

He claims the AFU used ATACMS missiles.

RIA Novosti released footage of the use of the TOS-2 "Tosochka" 220mm thermobaric MRL by the Russian Armed Forces against the Ukrainians.

"Tosochka" is a new version of the well-known TOS-1A Solntsepek. It can carry up to 18 rockets with thermobaric warhead. TOS-2 officially entered service in 2021.

Presumably, it's the first video documenting its appearance in the conflict zone.
