I'm open to the possibility that my interpretation is wrong, but then something seems off about likely overall casualty numbers, the figures from today and the forces involved.

Do keep in mind we are discussing estimates, not hard facts, and estimates have varied so far.

Two Black Sea Fleet ships, the seagoing tug Sergey Balk and the small tanker Vice Admiral Paromov are tracking south in the Baltic.

Both were deployed to the Med on Feb 24, last year.

The Sergey Balk arrives in the Baltic in October and the Paromov in August.

Seems @shashj is thinking along similar lines as I am.

@shashj:
I think I was right to be a bit dubious, as Kirby does not appear to have been giving causalty figures for Bakhmut alone. The other question is whether this represents the top of a wide range of estimates. Leaked DIA estimates were all "low confidence"

The Vice Admiral Paromov arrived in Kronstadt along with the Black Sea Fleet Moma-class AGI Kildin.

Wonder if she's back at sea too.

@hejtas @TankMuseum I heard the other day that the Danes apparently crawled over the East-West German border and stole a BTR-80 taking part in a border training exercise when they were first deployed

@TheLimpCrane There were also reports that several Kalibrs were launched either from Russian ships or submarines

Russia is definitely using decoys, probably a lot of them. I estimate that Russia has 135 to 160 Kalibr, X-101, and Kh-55 cruise missiles remaining, along with ~54 Kinzhal missiles

RT @Teoyaomiquu: Good news again. A platoon worth of orcs tried to take positions of the 92nd brigade around Svatove. A mortar shell struck right in the middle. All thanks to your drones friends, the attack was stopped, and multiple Ukrainian lives were saved!

Video will be released by brigade!

@T_90_M I am doing this because it is interesting for me and because I wanted to see if the reports being released by Ukraine on the number of missiles Russia has remaining and if the reported numbers they fire are accurate.

Only time would confirm if the reports are accurate or not. I… https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1653141575499759616

RT @Jack_Mrgln: On new Russian PMCs like Gazprom formations Potok, Fakel, Plamya: these appear by most accounts to be another lever for “creeping mobilization.”Pressure is put on businesses to supply men to the front, but there is insufficient incentive or infrastructure create effective units. https://twitter.com/Jack_Mrgln/status/1653079021834444801/photo/1
