It seems the Baltic Fleet Altay-class oiler Kola has deployed and currently tracking west in the English Channel, escorted now by a French Navy Flamant-class patrol boat.
The Kola departed Baltiysk on the 15th. Not sure if she's sailing alone or not.

The most interesting bits in Putins speech came at the end of it.
-----------
@ElenaChernenko:
PUTIN: The Russian Federation suspends its participation in New START. Does not withdraw from the treaty, but suspends its participation.

I think it's prudent to look for indications of possible nuclear testing going forward. Novaya Zemlya on the top of the list of places to monitor.

@baklitskiy:
Also, Pres Putin directs MOD and Rosatom to keep infrastructure ready for nuclear testing. "Russia will not test first but it should be ready if the US does" 2/x

@AnTa12015144 He means that Russia should not forget their waterways and take care of their main rivers and small rivers and other wildlife. He's just spewing random words at this point

@Poztreck @AnTa12015144 For 30 minutes, it sounded like a first grader wrote the speech talking about mother-daughter relationships, small rivers, garbage dumps, warm vacation homes, and kindergartens

3. There you go, in 5 days we got to betrayal.
"There's a direct counterwork ... an attempt to destroy PMC Wagner. It can be equalled to treason...".
For the moment it seems he's overplayed his hand and is being punished. Interested to see where this leads.

@wartranslated:
More madness from Prigozhin this morning who declares there's "direct work to destroy Wagner" as even the sapper shovels are not provided to the PMC anymore. "These officials decided it is their country, their people, they will decide when they die", he adds. https://t.co/YZ70XS8Z4x

@Echo5India Just that it was mentioned specifically does make me suspicious.
The Russians do sub-critical tests at Novaya Zemlya, Matochkin Shar. There has been work done on several tunnels in the past few years, so I reckon a real test could happen quickly if they really want to.

As for consequences of a possible Russian nuclear test, I'd say the primary reason behind it would be to stoke fear in the West.
It is a logical first step up on the nuclear ladder but beyond collapsing the CTBT, which is significant, it would still be a test, not actual use.

@Socom7b I'm not surprised New Start and arms control in general falls apart at the current stage. However, I don't see how a possible new nuclear arms race, on top of a major conventional war is beneficial for Russia.
Stoking nuclear fears seems to be the most logical explanation.

Nothing happened in Putin’s speech today. If you didn't listen, then you saved 2 hours of your life
It was a very boring 💤 speech: for an hour Putin talked about food, small rivers, wildlife, parent relationships, garbage dumps, and schools
Even the audience was visibly bored
